I interpreted the scene where jake morphs into old man prismo a bit differently. I saw it as there was no original old man prismo, and it always was Jake’s dream. Prismo’s “plan b” was what jake was dreaming about, and his imagination sets a loop outside of time where prismo creates himself. The monkey’s paw effect and his love of pickles comes from jake’s moral ambiguity and love of cooking in my mind.

@CarlolucaS btw I love your videos keep this goodness up and I hope one day more people are binging them like I've been doing but it all comes back to the question at what point can we make a mortal take accountability for their consent because from what this sounds like is some kind of statutory rape scenario where Prismo and immortal God above all space and time is using his mortal friend to bring him back to life, said mortal friend does submit to the "trap" set up for him but this can be brought down to taking advantage of someone lower than you for your own gain. But seriously, Jake at that time I believe was an old dog in his 40's/50's who's done crime, done time, and has witnessed most of what the world has to offer along with more to a point in which his wisdom at one point is what defines him in the eyes of his little brother. Taking this into account at what point would it be okay in your eyes if ever to consent to this as someone who is not a God? What if we flipped the script somehow and Simon/Ice king ended up in that bed trying to save Betty? Would that have been okay? Again, I love that you responded and I love all your videos, no disrespect is meant, just respecting what you're preaching, getting in the same mindset and coming with my own conclusions of the scenario

@@rgmoses2189 I think the basic is that the version that is now sleeping did not consent. There are two different people. And one version is deciding for the other version. The fact that Prismo tricked Jake into this "deal" is the other part. If Simon decided to do the same to save Betty it would be his choice and not Simon's 2 choice. The same goes for Finn. Finn 2 never said "Sure I am okay with being a sword" and on top of all of that I don't think Finn and Jake even know there is a reality B. Do you think Jake B would have concent to this deal if he knew that for example Lady B will never be able to see them again?

@CarlolucaS fair point when it comes to arguing in terms of time shifted alternate universes. In the long run it only made this dilemma even more overblown than it looked at first glance but while watching your video I am vaguely confused on whether you are arguing in terms of the theory that everytime anyone travels back in time they create an alternate universe by changing any aspect of that timeline thus eliminating any problems related to paradoxes when they return. An example being if I go back in time to kill Hitler along with my own grandfather and return to the present, instead of a paradox being creating due to me not being able to exist instead I return to a universe in which the holocaust never occurred and I was never born but I don't disappear because I did not originate from this universe. Orrr are you stating facts from the creators relating to what prismo actually did that being just pulling time shifted alternate universe Finn and Jake out of their own universes and thus making a universe deprived of them? One final thing if I were to argue not taking time travel creating alternate universes into account or just pulling from alternate universes and this was just conventional time travel with all its paradoxes, would Finn along with Jake consenting to their past selves' fates be justified in your eyes? Jake would probably cosent just because he likes Prismo but once you show him the consequences of his actions he would probably think twice. Finn turning into a sword would probably also consent just cause it is cool but once again if you explain the consequences he would think twice. If everyone knowingly gives consent even knowing the consequences I don't see anything wrong with it.

Finally a video about this!!! I always found something was off in Prismo and Jake's bromance. And the whole alternative Jake transformed into the sleeper. My first interpretation when I saw its that it was a paradox and this was supposed to be like a Canon event (spider style lol). And one of the reasons I thought it was true was the Linch's backstory about the creation of the universe. "Before there was nothing, there were monsters" and it shows exactly that (and Orgalord) but they were all yellow... and then the episode about Jake trapped inside himself where thanks to his powers he had like a whole city with living beings......... I always interpreted this madness of Jake (besides his alien origins) like the true creator of Adventure time's reality. In your words: the Mad God or in this case Mad Dog

Kind of a random tangent about the madness of magic probably explains why Jake’s family and descendants would end up so corrupted. They’re just born gifted with a random chunk cosmic power of their space blob ancestor in a family with a tradition of hands off parenting. It only makes sense that many of them would give in to the natural madness of magic and become unhinged. Charlie is a pretty good example of this not only was she already practicing dark rituals of fortunetelling but she was willing to rip chunks out of her parents bodies just so she wouldn’t have to figure out life. Of course the problem is nothing separates future Charlie from past Charlie because they chose to inherit the future selves memories but there is no future self because the past self already did this which just makes it an ontological paradox of no actual maturing on the part of Charlie. It’s the same thing that happened to Eren in aot. If the past self is influenced by the future self before they have a chance to develop then they’re just a copy of the future self which is just the past self by default meaning that he was literally a man child trapped in his belief that violence was the only answer because that’s basically what a kid in a playground does. It’s the same thing with Charlie she’s the same through and through she’s just more self-assured because there’s nowhere else to go for her anymore And being that immature as a person and it’s only natural she raised Gibbon to became such a misanthrope.

You are forgetting that Prismo just basically splits a universe in two at a specific moment in time, The liches wish didn't effect Finn and Jakes home universe as someone's wish cannot screw over other people unless its specifically to do so

I think doing the Lich's wish was just Prismo's job, the monkey's paw part might be a part of it, i am not sure how much control they have over wishes. About the cosmic crime part, fisrt, i am not sure how much future sight they have over the time room, so i don't know if they knew what would happen, having a plan b doesn't mean he knew he would die, but having a plan b is great, also i don't think they could wish some type of cosmic crime, waking them up is probably better. The ressurection part, i honestly don't know how it works but think the other Finn isn't a Finn from another universe, but from the past, so no Finnless universe, but this is just confusing. The rest i am not sure, everything is so vague and weird

Quick question, what do you think of Finn's hypocrisy with Gibbon? From what we see from Jake's children it's pretty obvious that their lifespans are less or equal to the lifespan of a dog so about 20 years and being hybrids doesn't seem to expand their lifespan and in some cases actually decreases it. That being the case Finn couldn't have been more than 40 before turtle princess was murdered so that Gibbon could achieve eternal life. Since Finn died well into his '80s or even beyond there's no way he was blind to that fact so why did he just let his great nephew become a mass murderer and eventually start empire of destruction?

Love your video dude. I have some thoughts I'd like to share. Starting first with the monkey's paw of his wish granting and the lich's original wish. I'd like to point out the lich never specified WHEN all of other realities had to be wiped out, so it's possible Primo didn't do it banking on the idea/future sight that Finn and Jake would foil it in the end. Secondly when it comes to the monkey's paw aspect and the "boss" he has to answer to, from my understanding of wish granting in general how a wish is to be granted is usually up to the wish granting entity itself. If Prismo has a boss, the monkey's paw is more of a 'It's not in the contract' situation, where Prismo would grant the big wish (I assume it's big because the person making it went to all the trouble of getting to the time room) and not get into trouble with the boss. The boss I assume would pull a "It's your responsibility" card to overrule any of Prismo's "Not my fault" arguments.

I think you are making the monkey's paw more complex than it is. Prismo explicitly says: "I can work with that." This means he can interpret the wish in a way that does not contain a monkey's paw. They just decided to do it every time. I understood nothing about the boss's explanation cause it still wouldn't explain why the boss is unable to see the apparent fuck up Prismo did which he didn't. The better explanation still seems. Prismo is lying. They don't have a boss and they fulfill wishes however they like cause it is probably fun to them.

@@CarlolucaS True the "I can work with that" does mean that prismo can interpret the specifics of a wish how ever he likes, for example you could argue that Jake didn't specific which Lich's wish would become his wish as in the multi-verse it's possible that multiple litches made the same wish (To destroy the land of OOO). 🤔 Again going on the assumption that there is a boss the 'Monkey's paw' is probably Prismo's way of grant a wish with the least backlash on him. Eg:- Destroy the multiverse wish -> Prismo decided to grant that wish eventually.

You know what really rubbed me the wrong way that the Fiona and cake special that was supposed be at least half about Prismo learning the consequences of his creations and the value of their existence, and having gained empathy from his friendship with Jake, and never address that he basically used a version of Jake to resurrect himself condemning them to an endless void of nonexistence, and mutilated a version of Finn into an object only to allow him to suffer terribly, and then die as lonely hollow shell never able to regain his humanity and Prismo never apologized for any of that. Sure, you can go with the whole mad God with no morality thing, but then They can’t make him have become a repentant, sad, drunk, and then never actually address the worst things he did to people he supposedly cared about to the point he changes his whole cosmic perspective, even going so far that he went against his cosmic superiors.

There is a number of assumptions here that i dislike. One that you assume that Prismo can see the future, wich, outside of individual dimentions, i doubt. Second, you assume that there are dimentions wich are the same, but time shifted. I, too, disagree with that, although im not SURE if i can blame you, given this video was released probably before fionna and cake ; but all realities are going on the same time, this being obvious given that all Finns have the same age. (including fionna)

Well, they do a worse job of explaining it in Fiona and Cake. Prismo is still a liar in FC and he abuses a mentally ill person. So even if all my assumptions are wrong Prismo is still a fucked up person. Also as far as I know they have different ages in the multiverse. You can see it in the episode where Prismos shows FC and Simon the different dimensions. My explanation is a just more complete and tighter. The shows explanation is incomplete and nonsensical. Even if drop future sight. Given that there are dimensions that seem to be similar Prismo has partial future sight through similar looking dimensions and Jake is indeed from an alternate dimension which probably fucked up that dimension. In conclusion. Even if you get rid of certain things Prismo is still a bit fucked.
