Please add a CERT team so that RIOT being called in isn't necessary. Add Food carts so that guards can give food to multiple cells in lockdown/solitary instead of one food tray at a time. Make it so that the prison being put on lockdown for an execution isn't necessary as I see genuinely no point in why this should even happen, it's not like the death row inmate attempts to escape nor any other prisoner or outside entity tries to save that death row prisoner being executed. I remember suggesting lockdown and canteen but the way this suggestion was implemented was not the way I was expecting it to. The way I wanted it was so that in a lockdown/canteen regiment the food was given to inmates into their cells rather than the inmates having to go to canteen and then back to their cells. I still don't understand how guard corruption fully works in the Gang DLC, it would be nice to have a DEV mode to see how guards personally become corrupt. Make it so that in multiplayer mode mutators and mods can be playable given that the other players joining the host also share those same mods as well.

Without Introversion I don't expect this to be any good. The entire charm of the first game is that it was built by a loving team that cared about the systems they were implementing, learning from them and continuing to make the game better. Paradox and Double Eleven have shown that they don't care about the game at all. They've introduced so many terrible bugs, implemented features that don't make sense or don't incorporate existing systems in any meaningful way. The only good that's come from Paradox buying Prison Architect was the first few updates when they focused on bug fixes and quality of life, then they said screw that and pumped out DLC's without ever caring for fixing bugs they introduced or quality of life anymore. So far it's appeared to be almost completely greed. Making this game 3D gives me a very flash backs from the transition period for tycoon type games in the early 2000's making everything 3D because they could and then completely dropping the ball on gameplay. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm very skeptical about their ability to execute on Prison Architect 2.

Yes, a healthy dose of skepticism is the way to go. The gaming industry as of late should have taught everybody to be skeptical of almost everything, alas, some people are doomed to fall prey to the cycle of excitement and subsequent disappointment. After experiencing this cycle many times myself I have now become jaded with this industry. Will it be any good? I do hope so! But if it turns out to not be any good, then I'll have saved myself the trouble of getting my hopes up.

Paradox have the exact same structure for every game they make. Cut the core gameplay to the bone, don't do any QA, rush the game to release with an expensive marketing campaign and paid sponsors pretending to do reviews in order to push pre-orders, then apologise for the bugs, do nothing about them, then pump out DLC for 10 years with a minimal dev team.

Yeah you can see it's already bad from the basics, which is a terrible sign in a game. Most of the character animations just look bad and clunky because every model is fat and round (not a surprise when you see the dev team). Literally every single model has the same head, and they're wide enough to fill doorways, it just looks stupid.

I liked the original Prison Architect very much. Building the prison with multiple floors and in 3D is very cool. I don't like the art style of the characters though. They look like a "kids friendly"/casual version and I'm not sure about the "highlighting" of the characters with the black border around the characters. Hope the core features are not made more casual too.

I mean, I’m not too sure. The style of prison architect gave it its own unique identity, making, and in this toon aesthetic will just have it blend in with all of the other similar games and it kind of looks like a mobile game. I’ll wait to see more, will probably pick it up regardless so 🤷‍♂️

It also wasn't intended to be the final art, part of the kickstarter was planning to hire an artist to replace it, but people just liked it too much.

I hate that it basically went the "Now in 3D!"-route like it's the early 2000s or something. This was a mistake for other 2D-games, such as "Worms", as well. - I know that a lot of players of the original wanted to see this happen, for whatever reason, but in my view it just removes the charm of it. I literally was on board with the original because of its simplicity and the stupidest trailer that Introversion made ("Watch these guys eating, sleeping, etc."), not this. - But at least it's not a clone of the original with a "2" attached to it.

I dunno, I'm a correctional officer in a supermax irl and I liked PA, but it bothered me I couldn't make any kind of actually semi-realistic prison. Being able to make multiple tiers in a unit is crucial and an iconic feature of maximum security prison design, at least where I'm from and from what I've seen in the US. At least in my country, only minimum and some medium security facilities have one floor, because they're literally farms and education campuses and the prisoner accomodation is basically just little cottages with cell doors on them. Most of the accomodation units in the much more traditional style supermax prison I work at have 2 tiers in them.

In prison architect 1 the only DLCs they really added was cosmetic ones (and a zombie one for some reason... And I suppose psychward... and gangs... even then) they didnt really add anything that you NEEDED to buy to make the game an actual game. You could play prison architect without any of the DLCs and more or less have the same experience seeing how the DLCs were optional things you could turn on or off anyways. Now I dont think I need to tell you to go play hoi, stellaris or CK without any DLCs for you to know those games without DLCs feel exactly like pre-alpha games.

I would like to see a co-op in escape mode where players could play as prisoners. To be honest, you can already play like this, but only one player will be a prisoner, and all the others will remain prison wardens. I also hope the gameplay for the prisoner will be much more diverse so that you need to eat, sleep, work, etc. And also, please add unique bulletproof vests for the sheriffs' uniforms, otherwise they wear standard ones.

People don't you all remember what the first game turned out to be like after they sold this IP to paradox. Just like the first its gonna be a bad mess, for real all they doing is repainting the ip with a new coat but at the end of the day they just wanna milk the IP they bought for all they can. They abounded the first with all these bugs and issues that makes playing the game painful to play making it clear as day they don't care and the DLCs in the first also shown they don't truly understand what the community wants out of the games either like you got to be joking zombies! No matter what this IP got killed off and even tho your still control of your money i would recommend to just avoid this game.

Guys, for your excitement. Remember that they have released many dlc for prison architect, updated them once or twice leaving there many bugs that were never fixed to this day. For example i bought a perfect Storm dlc, there was a bug that causes my workers not to do their job, it was never fixed and this dlc was absolutely unplayable. Dont trust them, first watch some videos after the release, and read opinions

I really liked Prison Architect 1 but as the game is quite old, I note with regret that the more we enlarge our prison, the more the game glitches. I sincerely hope that the lags will be resolved with PA 2

Well, since it's 3D now I can't imagine you'll be able to build as big as in PA1 but IDK. If PA1 struggled to work properly at larger sizes then I am doubtful this one will run any better. Keep in mind Cities: Skylines, another Paradox published game, Cities: Skylines 2 ran like crap on many people's PC at release and probably still does today. Point being: lower your expectations.

If the previous DLCs were implemented in some form that would be awesome but seeing how there is a pre-existing map I don't think that would be possible for some of the DLCs. anyways I am slightly worried about the freedom of the previous game as you could do a lot but with this one it seems a lot more restricted with a premade city which makes me suspect players cant increase the area they can build in, but I do like some of the features shown like multiple floors.

I have absolutely zero faith in this IP after Paradox acquired the rights to it. It'll just be another excuse to rush a broken underdeveloped game at release, push endless amounts of DLC, never fix bugs, and force users to use their terrible launcher which is full of ads and telemetry.

@@dirtydan6960 Yeah because they will suddenly change their entire business practice. When have they eve released a game that didn't come with 5 billion overpriced DLC? When did they ever release a sequel that didn't have features from the prequel removed so they could be sold as DLC? Overall, Paradox is quite a disgusting company and i'm amazed they aren't treated the same way Take 2 or EA are, because they are just as bad.

unsure how to feel about this, actually i really liked the cartoony art style, and how everything was very contrasty. The current color scheme is way too grayscaled for my taste. Sure, we are simulating a *prison*, a place not known for being the most uplifting of places, but still...

I had the old prison architect on mobile not a tablet on mobile so is it on consoles and PCs only or there's gonna be in mobile too

With all the game breaking bugs inteoduced by paradox in the first one and focusing on dlc instead of fixing these bugs Im a bit skeptical. 00:50 in trailer I see a city. Forced progress ans missions or we still gonna get free sandbox to create what we want and hopefully without bugs tjat brake the core of the game. I will buy the sequel but most likely 1-3 months after launch when all the launch issues have been fixed.
