Given his level of genius I’m pretty sure he could have picked her pocket without kissing her. He kissed her because he loved her and he wanted her more than he wanted the key in that moment. We are talking about a guy who single handedly came up with a plan to bust his brother who was on death row out of a maximum security prison. He banked on needing her as part of his plan what he didn’t bank on was actually falling in love with her, which complicated matters for him because now by saving Linc he would unintentionally hurt the woman he loved.
