For anyone commenting straight from Luke's video about me, please look at my response in his comment section before coming to any conclusions. Also, please watch the full video for context. Thanks. Edit: People can't find the comment cause it got buried, so I'll copy it here: Hey. So I didn't think there would really be a response to my video in the first place as I meant more as a friendly criticism video while pointing out many flaws. I still don't wish to cause any drama despite what you or others may think, but I'd still like to speak on this without a full on video response. From the start of my video, I say I don't mean anything malicious in what I say and that holds true for this comment, but I do want to point out all it is you've gotten wrong or seemingly deflected as I was quite displeased with the video as a whole. Going point by point: 1:03 - From your opening point, it feels like you're deflecting. Your content is indeed the opinion you put out there, but that doesn't mean there's no ability to add naunces to said videos. You can go indepth on a topic if you like, work on visuals, try to do more research than others to add something to the conversation. It doesn't mean you have to change the core of what you stand for. I only included that bit about standing out for the sole purpose of showing you barely bring anything to the table and therefore are only really coasting off the topics you cover, and eventually that leads to burnout or stagnation in subs when dramas dry up or time and time again it's found you can't add anything and people pass you by. When you don't add anything to make you stand out or add to anything being stated, people lose interest. 1:23 - No. My point wasn't about having a different opinion. It was about adding to a situation in any way possible. This could mean looking where others wouldn't for information, asking for interviews of people involved, getting other creators together for a massive collaboration of brains, etc, etc. I never say to disagree with something as serious as pedophilia if the accusation holds strong and has clear evidence, but in all honesty, with many claims such as ProJared, just regurgitating information can lead to dire consequences from cancel culture and so on, one of the points i bring up about you when you lack research and give bias opinions based on one set of evidence and no further questioning. 2:12 - You can compensate for a monotone voice through accentuation of words, phrasing, and so on. I give tips about this later in the video. When I speak about trying to be funny or informative, it isn't saying you need to be either necessarily. It's more of a suggestion for making your content more interesting/engaging by adding something that people can want to watch the video for. I also mention having a good mix of the two or how an interesting personality can help plenty. 2:48 - This is strawmanning. I compared you to Keem and Scarce over regular commentators since you lack clear opinionated thought and mostly regurgitate what others say while only looking on the surface level, but then I refute that partially by saying I shouldn't compare you when Keem has much more of a personality. The strawmanning bit comes in when you insinuate it's fine for you to not go deeper than the surface level by bringing up "icarly and pornhub" as if that's your main brand of content. You've gotten info wrong about Cosmo, Antoons, Pyro, Peaches, and more, all things you covered seriously and consider major matters. If those don't deserve more indepth analysis because you could and did get it wrong otherwise, what is? 3:22 - I never said you can't cover trendy topics, far from it, but when you don't make it so you add anything, it feels shallow and just another video in a sea of people covering it. 3:43 - I say in the following sentence after saying it's alright to cover trendy subjects that I've done it myself 4:33 - I left out no context as it wasn't important to my point that they apologized. I said they made bad videos and they took them down. My only point in that scenario was to say you got it wrong in saying the two openly defended Tobi. Whether or not you felt it "seemed that way" doesn't count for much when you were outright wrong. The rest of the point you bring up about the whole Tobi drama is a nonsequitor as it doesn't have to do with my point. I didn't defend their videos in any way. Note at 5:32 - I know. That wasn't the statement I was making. I said that you said that JAR and co were trying to argue that Kai and Omnia called Tobi a pedo and that it's false. I then go on to say that yes, they did in fact say it was only by her own logic, but Manga Kamen also stated this, and you left out the context relating to that, thus making it seem like you intentionally cut it to make a point they weren't arguing. 6:56 - Manga Kamen isn't cutting context here. He states that he knows the two don't think she's a pedo, but that they should have worded themselves better in doing so to not be opened up to slander by others thinking they meant it in jest rather than by her own logic. Without that clip, it feels like they're just saying Kai and Omnia called Tobi something a kin to a pedo and then backed off. Do you see how many could think that's cut context? 8:49 - You say I ignore you stating that it's still suspicious that Antoons allowed it on his server to begin with, but you're looking at my point from the wrong angle again. I make it clear from the beginning I dislike and will never defend Antoons, and so if you want to criticize/call him out, you should have your facts straight, which you didn't and even admit to. I didn't leave out context, you're just once again adding something I never argued for or against. 10:13 - None of the tweets you've shown before nor now imply Peaches was friends with Tobi. I brought up that one tweet as it was the only definitive one I could see where she points out her relationship with Tobi, that being a negative one. You don't provide evidence to refute my claim here. I also know you didn't bring it up to be a dick. Again, you interpreted what I was saying completely differently from how I clarified it to be about, that being showing the things you've gotten wrong thanks to your lack of research and ease with sometimes jumping on bandwagons. 11:53 - Dude. "seeing a pattern" is by no means an adequate reason to call someone a suicide baiter by any means without conclusive proof. 12:18 - I had no reason to talk about pulling the bigger creator card at all as it didn't have to do with point at all and doesn't help your case for saying she baited suicide, was scummy for it, was only doing it to manipulate her audience, and several other claims which come off as quite despicable in hindsight and were irresponsible to make at the time. It all circles back to my point before. 12:56 - While adding this specific screenshot would sharpen your case somewhat that it could be seen as suspicious, something you don't even show in your original video from what can be remembered, that doesn't justify what you did AT ALL. It was scummy to do so. I do have a problem with suicide baiting, but only when you can know for certain that's what they're doing, and your basis was flimsy at best. 14:22 - You showed one other screenshot, and it doesn't directly state it was you, like I mentioned before. Whether or not she implied it, she didn't state it was you outright, and in the one case she name drops you, it goes in opposition to what you were stating, plus in another, she does directly imply you from mentioning her previous twitter thread and that was the one I brought up where she says you weren't malicious. 15:19 - She didn't say major sub loss. She said she lost a lot of subs, and that could mean anything. It doesn't dismiss my point that you mashed two things together to create a point which makes it come off as though you're lying and manipulating facts 16:15 - I was not saying she owned up to it like it was the end. I brought it up to show that you made a claim that was unsubstantiated. Nothing more. Nothing less. You complain about me not doing research as if I'm sweeping the times shes been bad on twitter under the rug or something, but I was arguing that, WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF WHEN THE CONVERSATION OCCURED, that being November 9, She hadn't spoken about the drama in a major way on twitter at all since October 16, the date she gave to you, other than when apologizing, which again, she mentions. I'm not defending the bad Peaches has done in the current era and framing it like everything should've ended there, only that AT THE TIME, she was speaking the truth and only really commented on one video past that in a way that I'd say doesn't directly involve her. Coming once again to my criticism that you make tons of errors from lack of research and bias towards one opinion. This entire bit exemplifies another one of my criticisms of you. You either didn't understand what I meant or intentionally played dumb to make a point, and it feels like you either cut context or twisted words rather than making a genuine mistake. You also claim it as though I'm being Peaches white knight which I don't appreciate as you completely seemed to miss the point once again.

_"He barely ever tells jokes, tries to be funny, or even really accentuate his emotions for either comedic effect or just engagement with the viewer. So I can only assume he wants to be taken super seriously a majority of the time."_ I don't see a problem with this. I can't speak for others, but I personally like that his videos try to just stay on the point (even if he does screw it up). Similarly, I disagree with the "He should do something with the prison mate thing ala funny edits and side gags" idea. IMO, it's annoying trying to watch a video on a certain topic and the creator decides "Hold on I gotta shoehorn this joke/side character in for a funny moment". Also, I don't get what the issue with his editing is. Considering the point of his edits is just showing images and whatnot that correlates with what he's talking about, It doesn't seem that necessary for him to dazzle it up with animations of the images moving or whatever. Likewise I don't see an issue with him not using a facecam or an on-screen rantsona.

@@Adnamie that's the problem, presumably. I used to wonder why the commentary community was so hated. A year later, and I'm realizing why. It seems more and more that a majority of commentary channels either jump to conclusions or spread misinformation. In the recent Pyrocynical allegations, (most, not all) commentary channels were siding with Pyro. Then Turkey Tom made his video and the Google doc, and these channels sided Turkey and Ivory. After Pyro made his KZbin response, many of these channels started to apologize towards Pyro, for spreading misinformation. If they had some patience, these youtubers wouldn't have made their mistakes. I personally prefer descriptive commentary over persuasive commentary. When some (not all) of these channels try to make a point, it's usually poorly constructed or they purposely leave out evidence. The only commentary channel that I watch anymore is Optimus, and even he had to apologize for his Pyro allegation content. A lot of these channels should just not make videos about serious stuff like this, unless they can make a good and fair point. This whole Pyro situation revealed a deep flaw in the commentary community, misconstrued and inaccurate KZbin Drama content. Sorry that I sticked to one piece of drama, but I think that's enough to prove my point. Ngl, there are some good commentary channels (e.g. Optimus, Just Stop and some others that can't think of). But with any other genre, there's some good, and a sea of trash. I do hope that these channels can make better content in the future though.

NO I don't wish anything bad to Luke I just wish he would say sorry for the things he got wrong, and be more careful. I said sorry for a few things I did but people still bring them up in dramas that don't have much to do with me and not saying "by the way he said sorry." I thought we all wanted this to be over and move on but it seems to me that I'm the only one who did that. When people are mad at you they will take the least charitable interpretation they can, thanks to this video maybe people will see I just made a mistake and I wasn't trying to do a lot of things they claimed.

I found him from the peaches drama and I'm glad the problems with his videos showed pretty quickly. The way he dismissed the suicide tweets as suicidebaiting when he didn't even know if peaches was being honest and when they didn't even mention suicide (I read it before hearing what he said and I thought peaches was talking about stopping uploading, not about suicide) was pretty gross and the way he behaved in his dms with her was also very telling. It seems like sometimes he just decides who he'll side with before having actual evidence and then assumes everything the person does is with ill intent, and I find that really annoying. I even had some person try to say that a therapist said HP was faking her mental health, and that person refused to show evidence of said claim when I asked them for it. At this point, people are making low blow accusations in order to make HP out to be worse than she is, when they don't realistically need to do that.

Any mention of the (still ongoing) Tobi/Hopeless Peaches/Complete Art Commentary Breakdown batshittery gives me Nam flashbacks. The constant miscommunications and skewed perspectives and bad arguments and cut context and jumping-of-the-gun involved is mindbogglingly complicated. There are world wars less complicated than this BS. I'm happy that you came at it from a more neutral perspective (something not common) and were able to articulate what Luke messed up on and why. His place in the drama has clouded a lot of judgement, so seeing some suspicions confirmed by an outside source / fresh set of eyes is appreciated. I actually enjoy Luke very much, although yes he’s not inherently a comic or one of the very best commentary channels I enjoy the videos since they’re easy ways to get a rundown of what drama is taking place with no bullshit or rumors. Although he makes some poor assumptions with people such as ivory during the cynical drama he’s still a very good channel to understand the drama and or figure out what the sides are without an added fuel to an unnecessary fire or a false rumor (although he has possibly done so but I’m not sure he’s attempting to plant false evidence) swaying you to a side or not. It’s very “here’s the drama” without the bullshit. Or atleast that’s what I see it as, he’s become a lot of peoples favourite commentary channel and I understand your dislike for the content and handling of topics by him but to people who have never really been involved or seen commentary channels as well as popular drama he’s a really good introduction. But he’s a good account overall whether the contents for you or not, but I agree with most of what you say he’s got a lot to learn given he’s just entered it all. Great vid!
