The way Colleen changed after Vera left with her adoption of strict rule enforcement etc, I'd never have believed she could become decent governor material, but all things considered, she is actually doing a decent job at acting the role in Ann's absence. She has improved her ways by modifying her attitude towards the women somewhat and has recently gone back up in my estimation again. Wally has made the right decision to return to the bush, that is what he is truly cut out for, rather than settling down in a relationship in the city.

Yes I agree, I can't see first of all.. I know there are sadistic people in the world, but the freak is sadistic on steroids! I can't see how just 1 person could cause so much havoc in a prison without them finding out. The show used to be interesting, now you just watch hoping that something will finally bring the sadistic freak down, but it never happens, and she gets stronger and stronger. I said before, I wouldn't even want to ACT as someone this sadistic. If I see her in real life, I would want to punch her right in the nose!

Maggie Kirkpatrick is a lovely lady in real life. Without giving too much away, you do see a softer side to Joan later on. The thing is, Joan is a complex character. At the moment she is being portrayed as pretty nasty, but she isn't always. It was also established early on why she is the way she is. She had a prisoner girlfriend at the prison in Queensland who was murdered by the other prisoners when they found out about the relationship. Since then, Joan has developed an intense hatred for all prisoners. As she put it, "Now, there is nothing left except the scum like the ones who killed her."

@Camille McALoon Yes and apparently there were problems with the producers of the show. Val didn't feel supported by them and the way they wrote Bea out of the show was really spiteful. I agree. When The Freak first arrived she brought a lot of drama to the show but after awhile for me it became tiresome. She always gets the upper hand over the prisoners and the other guards. By the time The Freak gets what's coming to her none of the original prisoners remain so it kind falls flat.

From seeing one of her interviews it's torn her world apart & she's stopped acting. All for something she didn't even do. Seeing her interview - l believe she was telling the truth & genuine. The person that made the story up, she should be ashamed of themselves coz they are trying to cash in on her fame. If they are mentally ill - then an innocent lady has bin condemned for something she didn't do. All coz the person with a mental illness can't tell the difference between an acting tv show character & real life. But l honestly believe she was genuine

I did a bit of research on the mouse (whose real name was Eric, by the way) and he made his first appearance on New Zealand TV in an episode of "It's Your Turn" back in 1979 and later had a starring role in the Finnish horror movie ".Kamalia jyrsijöitä" in 1982 (which was probably the highlight of his career). By the time these Prisoner episodes were filmed, he was well trained in the art of both "playing dead" and looking cute as well as being one of a small number of highly trained animals who traversed the world playing roles as and when required. Eric retired in 1985 and went to live with a family in Jakarta where, in early 1987, he died peacefully in his sleep. RIP Eric.

WHY does that THING have to be EVERYWHERE?? If I was Colleen I would have told her to go find something else to do, AWAY from any of the prisoners.

Now the chic who plays Helen has cut her hair short, could never stand all the short blokey haircuts they all have.. And the fact that the chic who plays Judy has the same horrid hair the whole way through, at least the others have changed it up a bit.

Reading through the comments makes me realise how much actually happened in this episode. 😬

The mouse storyline was recycled later with the character called Merl. Merl was also pretty much a recycled version of Cass.

And this current story was recycled from a previous episode involving Lizzie and a cat

Okay. So, she hits him with her car, he walks to the curb and in the amount of time it takes for a man to walk over to him, he has rigor-mortis (notice his arm after the man takes his pulse).

I'm no prison governor that suspects a screw of a poisiong. But I would have contacted the doc to find out if such screw was loitering around the medicine cabinet, to which the answer would be "yes, and I gave her the keys".
