Thanks for a brilliant video. I really enjoyed it. I love Prisoner Cell Block H and Bea (along with Lizzie) is my favourite prisoner (although Erica is my favourite character over all). I hadn't seen the interview with Parky either so thanks for something new as well. If you had plans to make similar videos about any of the other characters/actors, that would be great!

You can tell she enjoyed this role because she’s very sentimental with her memories.

Wow, that Parky interview was absolute gold!

Especially as she mentioned Nola.

Interviewing this woman must have been a low point in Parkinson’s career after having interviewed Hollywood A listers such as Betty Davis.

@ what was good about Parky was he wasn’t an entertainment snob and paid equal respect to actors, regardless of their country of origin or entertainment medium.

Val telling a British TV host about Bea's character was a bit strange to me. Prisoner was more successful in the UK than it was in Australia.

No it wasn’t. It was very successful in Australia.

They do a similar thing in the US on a series of Interviews called American Archive Of TV. They do alot of Interviews with folks who were groundbreakers on TV.

I used to watch this with my Nan when it first on television then I watched the reruns which were on late night and I think it was Channel 4 then when the series came to an end they replaced it with with dangerous women which was equally as good

great video and the show really struggled when Val quit. Even despite her protests though I feel she could have continued had she wanted to but perhaps her strong personality off screen went against her with the powers that existed in the organisation at that time. Prisoner really wasnt the same once Val and Sheila had gone, it almost lost its heartbeat.

I’d like to genuinely know what happened to Val’s voice and mouth later on in life. As she sounds like she’d had a stroke. Does anyone happen to know ?

Prisoner: Cell Bloch H was the beginning of the Australia invasion. They produced shows and movies that were shown all over the world at the time.

Queen Bea!!!!! I agree the slip letting a man in was terrible, they should have had a man hide in the shed or something not actually be insducted into the prison lol - now it would be more ok as surgeries happen. However agree with Val here at the time this wouldbe stupid.
