Nope, loved the halfway house stuff. Wow 5 years since I wrote that comment. The only thing I regret is wasting time watching some of the boring prison scenes. Same old fights, Ferguson bashing or attacking someone, arguments over all kinds of things. At least in the HW house, they were trying to improve the lives of inmates just released. I'm a believer in rehabilitation.

They're amazing aren't they. For me the show was never the same without Vera. Joan was a great substitute, but Vera was far more developed as a character, and Fiona was perfect in the part. Did you ever see her as Celia Stewart in Home and Away? This was a few years after Prisoner, they're the complete opposite to one another, it's almost surreal :D

Even using fear & come on techniques, i find it hard to believe that not one of the prisoners goes straight to the Governor or Meg reporting verbatim on the Freak. You can lag on a Screw, just not on your mates. Incredible!

She did need taken in hand and learn whats right and whats wrong. She was very naive and foolish. I didn't like the way Mrs Beamish counted Susies board money when she told susie told her it was all there and she didn't need to and it was susie birthday. Also the present of a necklace afew episodes ago mrs beamish gave her looked expensive. Just because lizzy made susie a hat doesn't make her necklace gift any the less nice. I can't agree with you that susie is low brow. She was a juvenile girl from a girls home who kept escaping and was probably being bullied by a girl or girls? but we never got to hear why she kept escaping from there. A maximum juvenile hall for young girls would have been better or placing her with foster carers? The writers on here didn't think of that. 🤷

Story time. So I am Canadian. In (I think) the early eighties a furniture store chain started up called 'The Brick'. It is still around nowadays and has not terrible goods, but back when it opened it was notorious for having absolutely dreadful furnishings, specifically ridiculous patterned sofas etc. It was also one of those companies that had absolutely ludicrous over the top commercials that showcased their 'wares'. Anybody with a modicum of taste made fun of it and steered clear. The furnishings in the flat that Suzie has landed in reminds me of the horrible crap that this store stocked and sold back then. Blrgghh!!!

And Donna, I really Feel for poor Donna - everyone treats her like crap, everyone blames her for getting Suzie on the game & hooked on drugs, but Donna IS Suzie, that's the point! Why can't anybody see it? It really upsets me to see the irony of how the prisoners treat her - and frankly, most PCBH viewers & fans, too. It was so forward thinking & progressive of PCBH to tackle a storyline like this at all, let alone back in the 1980's or whatnot - sad that it never managed to get it's true message through to the thick heads of the general public.
