നിഖില നല്ല കോമഡി ടൈമിങ് ഉള്ള ഒരു ആക്റ്ററാണ്. പ്രിഥ്വി ഓർഗാനിക് ആയി അതില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ആക്റ്ററും. പേരല്ലൂരിലൂടെ മാത്രമല്ല, ലവ് 24x7 മുതൽ ജോ ആന്റ് ജോ വരെ ഒരുപാട് സിനിമകളിൽ അവരത് തെളിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് (അരവിന്ദൻ, ഞാൻ പ്രകാശൻ). ഇങ്ങനെയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു കോമഡി എന്റർടെയ്നർ സിനിമയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഇന്റർവ്യൂവിൽ ഈ രണ്ടുപേരേയും സമീകരിച്ച് ചോദിക്കാതെ ("നിങ്ങൾ രണ്ടാളും നന്നായി കോമഡി ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളവർ ആണല്ലോ" ) രണ്ടാളോടും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾ ആവാമായിരുന്നു. ജോ&ജോ യിലെ നിഖിലയുടെ കാരക്റ്റർ വളരെ സമർഥമായി കോമഡിയും പോസിറ്റീവ് ആയ സ്ത്രീപക്ഷ രാഷ്ട്രീയവും കലർത്തിയ പൂർവ്വമാതൃകകൾ അധികമില്ലാത്ത ഒരുകാരക്റ്റർ ആണ്. നിഖില വളരെ കയ്യടക്കത്തോടെ ആണ് അത് ചെയ്തത്. അത്തരമൊരു നടി കുറച്ചുകൂടെ യുണീക്ക് ആയ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾ അർഹിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നി (ഈ ചാനൽ ആയതുകൊണ്ട് മാത്രം). ഇതൊഴിച്ച് നിർത്തിയാൽ നല്ല ഇന്റർവ്യൂ. ❤

To be very honest, I’ve seen the films you mentioned, the truth is that Nikhila despite being a decent actress lacks screen presence! It’s an important factor to get noticed as a good actor. For instance when you put Nikhila and another actor in a scene, Nikhila kind of disappears into the background. For Eg in Jo &Jo (since you mentioned that film) in the scenes with Nikhila and her mother, the actor that played the mother, easily overshadowed Nikhila’s performance. Literally swallowed her whole! In the movie njan prakashan (which I saw during lockdown) when I look back today I don’t even remember Nikhila’s character in the film. Her performances are easily forgettable. She lacks an it factor. She’s known mostly for her off screen counter responses in the interviews. I’ve never heard anyone say, “Nikhila Vimal is my favourite actress” when asked about actors of this generation, while much younger actors like Anaswara are called superstars. If you ask me Nikhila is mostly offered “Fill in the Blanks” roles…that is, when people can’t find what they want, they offer it to Nikhila instead. I’m not even curious to know what her character is, but I want to know Anaswara and others.
