I have a gen 3 prius, it’s a 2015 with 150k miles and zero issues. The 2015 have different pistons & rings.

That’s good for you. I guess they figured it out before the fourth generation.

@ That’s what all the hybrid specialists told me. People always ask me if they’re good cars and I tell them they’re great cars and highly recommended them because they’re very reliable and cheap to maintain. They ask what year should they look into, I say a 22 because they’re very reliable new ones are still working on bugs here and there but the 22 is way cheaper than the following generation & mostly all the bugs were taken care of on that engine plus the battery is not too old.

A whole new engine was cheaper than replacing a head gasket? 😂

No, but it is a better solution. My engine had 174,000 miles on it, and it was burning a quart of oil every 2000 miles, so I think it had other problems as well. And when the head gasket went bad, it pulled a bunch of water into the cylinders, so that probably did damage as well.

There are no real jdm engines. Its a scam. Most are junkyard engines

we just bought a jdm engine and it is pristine. 51k miles on it
