Prius Flex fuel conversion run e85 / gas less than 20 minutes.

Im complete incompetent, and could take weeks because would break something along the way. Happens all the time for me, but eventually get it. If I dont mess up I could see getting done in an hour. This definitely doesn't seem worth the cost, especially since ethanol is bad, but seems really damn cool and way better than custom tuning that you would need to actively adjust. I'll think about if have spare money to try putting on my "junk" (street legal) 2016 Prius to test it out. Wouldnt bother with my 2011 ford fusion, that one could stop working at any point. 2012 Chrysler town and country is alreadt flex fuel. 2022 Prius I have I don't want to risk breaking from me beinf dumb, or just damaging from using more ethanol (mainly water damage if don't drive). I know you said it's fine, but ethanol scares me LOL

Did this on my Matrix love it lost a little MPG but its much spunkier and idles better 2.99 E85 vs 4.50 on reg

Put a few thousand miles on it. Runs smoother and get about 20% reduced mpg but still saves money here in California

@@subtledriver 3.99 for e85.22 0.18995/mile flexfuel (including deducting the mpg loss ) vs 0.22453/mile for 91octane at $5.29 so the break even point is 18,000-20,000 miles bro

@@ybkrnmusic probably not, unless it is port injection. This kit will work on 1s, 2nd, and 3rd gen prius, not sure about brand new car.

Yes, you will need to take photo of your injector connector and injector and email to them. They will set you up with a proper set of clips and harness. Be sure to mention the subtledriver discount code in there.

Here is an idea for you. Raise the compression on the Prius to @ 14:1 . The Honda GX has such a ratio and is written by David Blume in his book AlcoholCanbeaGas that 14:1 ratio makes the perfect zone for optimal ethanol MPG.

Straight ethonol you got a point but for flex fuel 14:1 is to high for 89/low octane fuel not to mention custom cut cam springs and retainers decked head and a complete bottom end to forge performance parts that's about a 10-15k build

You can also use a GNG spark advance computer or get a remap.

I got a 20% loss in economy when on 100% e85 gas compared to gasoline. so as long as the e85 is @ 20% or greater price difference, i am saving money. But it really depends on what mix, since it can run any mix and adjusts automatically.

been driving almost every day on e85 for almost a year, have zero issues.

Only issue I had was below freezing, without adjusting the cold start on the menu, it can have slight rough start 1st time in the morning. Just run a couple extra gallons of regular gas to make the mixture 60% or lower in extreme weather.

Yes it is port injection. It will work great on the 3rd gen. We already have a customer running this on his 2012 for 3 years.

No, e85 doesn't corrode anything. It is less corrosive than gas. Ever think about that almost all usa gasoline has ethanol in it...
