Prius gets crazy custom sound system 😱🔥

Hello there, today we got you one of the craziest customs we've done.
In this little Prius we're putting a Hertz Mille LEGEND, a custom three way in the front, Hertz Centos in the back and a custom fiber glass for the JL AUDIO W1 powered with Audison Amplifier.

I sure would like to get just a bit more info… for the amps your using, what are they fused for ? I know you can draw quite a bit more than Toyota recommends (which is only wimpy 40 amps) because I ran a Kicker 5ch that was fused for 90 amps, with no problems. But I’m building a new system now, for my 2022 XLE, and that amp was discontinued. I’ve heard that the electrical system in these cars can handle up to about 120 amp draw, before they will start to throw “electrical error” warnings, and shut your power inverter down. Granted, just because your amp has a fuse(s) of 120 amps, doesn’t mean you actually pull that during real world use. Actually quite a bit less, but having some safety room is not a bad idea either. PS, for you guys talking about extra batteries, what you have learned about regular vehicles with an alternator, does not directly pertain to a Prius, which doesn’t even have an alternator, but rather, they use an inverter. Now, my system only has a modest 800 wt amp, which was fused for 90 watts. But I have to say, I never had any flickering, and it would play for 20 minutes at full tilt, before my gas motor would even kick on. That big 400 volt traction battery kept that little 12 volt totally full, regardless of how hard I beat it. Seemed like a rock solid system 👍In some ways, better than an alternator.

Hello. How did it go. Did u upgrade the system. ? I have a corolla hybrid 2020. Planing to install Rockford T400x4ad (400w rms and 4ohms speaker) no extra 12v battery. Do u think that is safe?

youfatmomma2 & co That’s not normal it could be a lot of things that causing it to shut down you might wanna check your wiring or make sure the amp not overheating.

Hi.. how did you power all the system. Was it run off the stock 12v battery in the Prius or did u upgrade the battery to handle the power draw.. asking as I want to put some speakers in my Prius but not sure how much power the stock battery can handle

Mohsin Afzal we didn’t need to upgrade the stock battery and the system work perfect no issues at all.

that's going to be terrible for your Prius battery anything over 1K, watts will not work. You can google it "max watts for prius hybrid battery sub?" 1K. I have a 1 12-inch 800 watt in my Prius works great. 5k will def give your car problems with a hybrid.

I have a gen 2 with 1500 watts and 2 12s, it’s still doing great. I wouldn’t do more than that, it’s plenty.
