Awesome content as always :) A way I knew is to imagine the part heading south of the compass being heavier, and then if the plane stays horizontal when turning/accelerating/decelerating, imagine how the compass behaves with the centrifuge force pushing south to the outside of the turn/front when slowing down/back when speeding up. It seems to comply with UNOS/NOSE/AND (great great technique btw ^^)

I was once flying Grumman AA1C from Bacchus Marsh to Essendon airport in Melbourne Australia my gyros failed . I was able to continue safely by reference to the natural horizon and the airspeed indicator. Was a bit nervous in a primary control zone but landed with no incident.

It is called the lubber line because it referred to what old sailors (pre 20th century) used to refer to novice sailors as, "landlubbers", or someone who was afraid of the sea and wanted to keep the line pointed towards the land.

Color me confused. @ 31:08 headed south "i make a left turn, i'd expect west" Help me here, if you're headed magnetic south and turn left, would you not be headed east? It appears the illustration shows 180deg direction changing quickly to a 150 deg heading.
