I had an instructor in High School from when I was 14-18. He defended Henderson Field; there was a surprise night time Japanese attack. He had to get out of his bunk and hit the line. He didn't have time to do the Malaria precautions, only the guys on the line did. He and a lot of other Marines came down with Malaria. Unless they were in an active attack of the disease, they still fought for the Island, held the field. They took Quine, and when they could buried the dead from both sides.

well it might be a breeding ground for mosquitos, but its also a buffer zone for dry land, and many birds depend on it that keep nature in balance, loss of habitat is a real thing, we already lost soo much field and forrest and act as buffer zones in flooding, as well as prevent erosion in areas.

That’s why a lot of current practices for preventing mosquito-borne diseases are focused around keeping mosquitoes from getting access to your blood in the first place instead of wiping out the entire family of mosquitoes by eliminating major breeding spots like wetlands.
