The video is for my private use. Einstein is my 3-year-old Border Collie and my first herding dog after a 20-year break after my first Golden Retriever. I have no experience training herding dogs, so I started working with Einstein about two years ago. We mainly worked on basic obedience and tricks. We had little chance to practice herding as I do not own sheep or know people with sheep. We have had the opportunity to participate in a few courses lately, and the results are starting to show.
In this session, we focused on achieving a good outrun and experimented with different techniques, such as driving the sheep in various directions. It was great fun. I even became brave enough to try splitting the herd (shedding) for the first time. We even managed that at a distance. I´m sorry for that the whistle & verbal commands are not audible enough to fully understand what we were doing.
