They forgot to show the most amazing thing that Chaser did: the old doctor scattered all 1000+ dog toys around his house, and then told her to fetch a specific toy. The test was tricky because he used a new name he never taught her, and had put a new toy somewhere in the house. She went around the house, looking at the various toys, and eventually decided to pick up the new toy. She deduced that the unfamiliar word must be the name of the new toy. She's an incredible dog!

I used to have a German Shepherd. She was smarter than most humans, with a wicked sense of humor. If we were late feeding her, she would get her food dish and throw it at us. She could snag snowballs out of the air and sling them right back at the person throwing them. She would also get her leash and walk herself. Gosh, I could go on forever about her. I miss her.

My senior dog lost his hearing two years ago and I've taught him sign language and I was shocked at how easy it was. He now looks to my hands to see what I'm telling him. This dog also saved my life when he was 6 months old. We have a tight bond but the last 6 months or so I cry just at the thought of losing him.

My grandfather and father were dairy farmers. My granddad’s Border collie Shep I believe essentially knew conversational English. You could say to her “Hey, Shep, go down to the end of the pasture and make sure we got them all,” and she would go and do it. She probably saved his life once: He had gone into a small paddock where he kept a bull to fill the bull’s water trough. The bull knocked him to the ground and was beginning to strike at his chest with its hooves. Shep slipped under the fence, fastened her teeth onto the bull’s tail, and held on tight until the bull decided to go after her instead. She held on, according to my grandfather’s story, and he was able to roll away and escape while the bull chased his tail. At a strategic moment, Shep let go and darted away. She lived to be 17, or so they told me; I was a child when she died.

When my Dad passed away, his biggest wish was to be home with our dog by his side. Our amazing dog Cody put his teddy bear on my Dad's arm and his head on my Dad's chest while Dad passed. Since then, our dog has saved my life numerous times when my blood sugar crashed into the 20s-30s. Cody is our little hero, my shadow everywhere I go, and my best friend. 🐕💗

Totally agree 100% My Beautiful Girl Shepherd New every word From small to big stick Back of ute or inside the car Have a bath , she went to the bathroom Sat there and waited for me. She knew back from front door We played hide and seek and tip, a chasing game, and All normal dog commands, she didn't wag her tail around the coffee table as not to wipe things off it. About 12 years ago, our elderly akita had to have emergency bloat surgery. He had a 50/50 chance of surviving, but he made it through the surgery. The vet called us after the surgery, telling us that we could come back into the recovery room to see him. When we entered the room, Jake was deep asleep, since he was still coming out of anesthesia. His eyes were closed tight. But within a few moments, his eyes cracked open. And as soon as he saw us there with him, his heart rate went NUTS. You could hear the beeping on the monitor going crazy. I knew that Jake loved us before that moment, but as long as I live, I will never forget the sound of that beeping, his heart going crazy for us.

I have a 13-year-old Staffordhire Bull Terrier. I am 82 and have had her since she was six weeks old. I've always treated her as a companion, not just a dog, and talk to her as if she is just a house mate. She understands literally hundreds of words, I never issue "commands", and talk to her as if she's a human being. I have no choice, come to think of it, often enough I don't have anyone else to talk to for days! I am still gobsmacked every day how she responds to "ordinary" conversation and seems to pick up meanings. You only have to look into a dog's eyes and see there's a BRAIN at work in their heads!

Anyone who has spent any real time with dogs, and paid attention to their feelings and emotions, should have no doubt in the level of understanding and intelligence that dogs possess. They understand so much of what's going on. Maybe even more than us sometimes, because they're more in tune with body language and energy that someone exhibits. Dogs are sometimes able to sense dangerous intentions from a stranger before we do. Or when you're sad or upset, they understand it. They know SO much about what's going on.

Sheep and cattle dogs are very intelligent. In New Zealand there is a dog trainer who has taught dogs to drive a car. These dogs were rescued from animal shelters. He has done this to bring awareness to homeless dogs.

My Aunt had a small black lab mix named Sam. In the 60's/70's he would get up in a chair by her record player and softly whine. Until she put on her Tammy Wynette album/song "stand by your man." Once she put the song on, he would stand on his hind legs and "perfectly sing along" (howls) to the song. Was so funny and so smart. He also was so smart in many ways! I could tell him "go find the kids" and he would go thru the neighborhood to find my cousins and "herd" them home❤. He was very loving and sensitive, too. He loved praise but if someone talked to him in a tone that sounded that they were "disappointed" in him he would get sad and find a corner to "pout" in. Until one of us came and gave him lovies and cuddles❤

We had a farm dog (when I was a kid) that could open and close doors, turn faucets with levers on an off. Light switches. Could go to the store by herself and fetch the grocery basket. She slept in her own person bed and could pull up the covers. Could fetch farm tools, could count up to ten in barks, watch tv for hours, liked to listen to the radio, see herself in the mirror, sing, laugh when you tickled her. Walk on two legs. Amazing dog. Animals way smarter than people ever can imagine.

I grew up in a dysfunctional family, and then we got her, she's the angel that brought love to our home. I probably wouldn't be here in this world if not for her. Now a decade later we have 5 angels including her children and grandchildren (or grandpups). She's older now but she's still with us spreading love 😘😘😘 ❤️❤️

Well,I am just a Country Boy.I grew up on a farm full of all kinds of animals. Since I was an only child,the only companion I had was my dog.It was as a small child and a little puppy. For myself,the dog was a replacement for the brother or sister I didn't have.We learned to speak together.The bond was so strong that it transcended the physical. We were bound together by a magic silver cord!

My 12yr old Cattle dog has a large vocabulary. We bonded immediately when I rescued her from a shelter at 7 months old. She is the most social dog I've ever had. She is the reason I have more friends in my neighborhood than ever before. She is the reason I have my own successful dog walking and sitting business. Everybody calls me the dog whisperer like Cesar Milan, but she is the real ⭐ star!!!

Anyone that lives closely with a dog and invests time to really get to know them personally knows how intelligent they are. And, no, when you leave and are met at the door by a welcoming and excited dog, it’s not that they want you to feed them or scam you, it means they missed you and are glad you are home again because they really love you. Dogs can remember a person they love after years of separation. God bless them. They are wonderful companions and personal friends to people that treat them well, just like most humans.

My family has a Papillon dog about 4 years old. We scatter about 20 to 30 toys around the living room and then go to the bedroom. We ask her to get her toys by name and she brings them to us in the bedroom and she does it with very high accuracy. She’s knows the names of all family members and friends very well. She remembers people well even if she doesn’t see them for one year. She is amazing given the fact she weighs just 7-8 pounds.

I work at a dog store an old man like him comes up to me wanting to see one of our dogs, a Boston terrier pug mix. He loved the dog so much he wanted to take her home but he didn't have the money for it. He left saying I'll figure it out. 2 days later he returns goes back to being with the dog and says "I have a friend coming with a deposit" apparently he got his therapist to bring the money so he could have the dog. After hearing that we lowered the price for the dog and he almost cried saying "thank you so much" I could tell he is not well health wise but he was such a sweet man. He told me that "if I die my family will take care of her" which after watching this reminded me of him. I hope Dale is doing well with his lil cutie. He even named her after me. Sorry had the feelings💚

I know what you mean. Had several rescue dogs from brilliant to stupid, but all sweet. Most amazing was the dog we adopted at age 8/9. She was intelligent, not because we taught her things but she communicated. One day I came home and she greets me at the door, wagging her tail but showing her teeth. It took me a moment to understand she was trying to smile at me. She had comprehended that people show their teeth at each other to show pleasure and was copying that behavior. A rescue dog that had been abused for 8 years in her life producing puppies. It was not taught behavior, it was intelligence. I have had 4 dogs since her (older rescues). All sweet, but I have never seen a dog as intelligent as she was. Einstein happens.

My son had a shepherd husky mix. He trained it to do obstacle courses and to know certain words etc. Then my son got married and the dog lived with my son and his wife. All of a sudden one day the dog started shadowing the wife like crazy. He wouldn't let her out of his sight and he was always as close as he could get to her. When she found out she was pregnant we knew why. 9 months later she couldn't sleep one night. Every time she opened her eyes the dog was sitting by the bed staring at her. She would tell him to go lay down. He would lay down right there by the bed. She tried to go back to sleep but again would open her eyes and there was the dog inches from her face staring at her. She finally got up to go to the bathroom and her water broke. The dog knew she was in labor before she did.

Many people have children, spouses and family right next to them and have no clue how they're doing because they are completely detached from them. They're there physically but that's it. Our beautiful dog loves Christmas. Last year, as we were all getting our presents from under the tree, she sat quietly in the background. When her name was called she got up excitedly to collect her gift. She would take it back to her spot whist someone ‘helped’ her unwrap it. Each time her name was called she did the same thing. She knew she was included in the festivities of receiving gifts. She is one of our children.

Stumbled across this, it was very fascinating. I am blind, and I am working with my second Guide Dog. I remember when I was in training with her, the instructors at the school said, the very same thing that our dogs are intelligent like a two or three year-old. It’s my dog’s job to keep me safe. But I don’t tell her let’s go to the bank. It is simple, straightforward commands when we’re out walking. A couple of things that I really appreciate about working with a dog : If I give her a command, and she determines that it’s not safe for us, she will intelligently disobey me to keep the team safe. This is called intelligent disobedience. The other thing that I appreciate about having a dog is that when we go places often enough, she will pattern to that place and automatically show me the door to the place whether this be a restaurant or a store that we visit frequently. Lastly, she sees obstacles as we are walking down the sidewalk and chooses how to go around them, and we just continue on smoothly.

When I met my wife she had a American eskimo. She told me it was smart but untrainable. Within a month I had that dog doing amazing things. It was the smartest dog I had ever seen. My guess is that dog do three or 400 words. If my wife said after dinner take out the garbage and walk the dog, if I picked up the leash the dog would go sit by the garbage can to remind me to take out the garbage. That dog also taught me some things. It taught me different bark for different things he wanted. A short shot bark meant come here I need you.two short barks ment water. He did not have a good sense of smell but he could hear her car 3 minutes before she got home. He continued to learn new words right up to his old age.

I've had dogs my entire life but my black lab Eddie and I were super connected. I'll never forget the moment I got the news from the doctor while on the phone that my dad's brain tumor came back. I hung up and before I could even cry, Eddie walked up between my legs, and literally hugged me. Having to put him down years later because of cancer was brutal. I found him running on the street. I am so glad no one responded to my signs up. I fell in love that night when he jumped in the pool with my nephew. I have no doubt that our animals are in heaven waiting for us! ❤️

That is fantastic. But I haven't been able to get another dog after my Rottweiler Buddy passed away a few years ago. He was with me for 17 years. And when he died, I thought I would die too. He was not just a pet... He was family. The reason I have not gotten another dog is #1, he could never be replaced and #2, I don't want to go through that pain of losing another dog again. I know that sounds crazy but I still cry when I think of him or look at his house and toys 😥

My dog 🐕 is an 11 lb mutt. She looks like she might have some chihuahua and minerure pincher in her. Just a little bit. She's so smart. I saw this episode many years ago. So when I got my Luna, I started teaching her words like names of her toys, names of people. Just saw this program on Tv - we had our Collie for 13 years and she had a HUGE vocabulary, she could read our bodylanguage and understood phrases and sentences - she also knew all her toy names - about 30 over the years. Her vocab was roughly more or less of a 2-3 year old - her reading your body language and exactly knowing what you plan to do was amazing. We missed her a lot 😰- she passed away due to old age March 2023. We treated her like a child and she knew she was our 'child' - she was a rescue dog too. We got her when she was 3 months old - previous owners wanted to put her down!!

Our gsd is a flunkie from a seeing eye org -and it was their loss bc of 11 dogs we've had in our lives, she's a real thinker and always wanting to learn about the world. I have a jack russell that I’ve had since Sept of 2013 . He was 5 weeks old . I’ve always talked to him in full sentences and I don’t think he’s ever left my side . He’s always with me . If I’m going to the store I’ll say Eddie, do you wanna go to the store with me ? He will instantly jump up and be excited and when we get to the garage he waits for me to say which car or truck we are taking . So I’ll say Eddie , let’s got to the store , we’re taking the truck . He knows exactly what I’m saying . Same thing with everything else in life . He gets excited over Christmas presents and will unwrap new toys an treats on Christmas Day. If I say Eddie , you need a bath , he will go to the bathroom and sit on the rug until I start the bath water then he will jump in the tub. When he’s done I’ll lay a towel on the floor and he will roll around and dry hisself off . He sleeps in my bed , he has a small pillow that he knows is his. He gets under the covers by himself . I can go on and on about how smart he is . I’ve always treated and talked to him like a human . He’s my little buddy . And when I tell him I love him he will come give me a hug a kisses on the hand or wrist . I’ve never really give it much thought on how smart he really is . But I trust him way more than most people . Hes 9 yrs young now and he shows no signs of slowing down . He’s a really good frisbee or ball catcher . Just a wonderful companion

Ive had two Jack Russells and now have a rescue with a lot of Jack Russell in him. They are quite brilliant. I have been dealing wit major depression since the age of 12. I lived in Vermont for 10 years and was often alone. One winter when a depressive episode was bad enough to be plagued with suicidal ideation, my Jack Russell, Mr. Smee, would bark incessantly outside of the door. I thought something was wrong. It took me a while to realize that he was asking me to come outside to play. I often think the reason I am still here today is thanks to Mr. Smee.

I remember an old couple who lived in the next street from me. They had a border collie - known to be intelligent dogs - called Elvis (they had rescued him - the name wasn't their choice). He was the smartest dog I ever met. If you were in the garden and asked him to fetch something from inside the house (he couldn't see it, so pointing was of no help), he would always bring the correct thing. He could do this with dozens of items. So not only did he know what you wanted, he knew how to find it. He was very funny. If he wanted food, he would bring you his metal bowl from the kitchen and bang it on the wall. Great dog.

Yep, a friend had a miniature Golden Retriever, which he wasn't, he grew to 70 Lbs, but he also knew his toys by name, a new one every month and the dog would always fetch the correct toy. He worked with the dog, just like this guy, so it's a matter of time and training, like a child. I have neighbors that rescued 2 dogs, they are large, never walked and just bark, it's a pity.

Yes, this is not news to me. I watch dog channels on YT all the time, especially huskies, and they know a lot of the same things that Chaser does. My cockapoo picked up my commands when she was only around 5 or 6 weeks old. She saw me getting water from the faucet once and she went straight over to it and looked up at it the next time she wanted water. Poodles are smart too.

My in-laws always say their lab is soooo smart. I never thought to much about it...until a few months ago! We went to visit my in-laws, and while we were there my husband was telling his father that he can never keep track of his pocketknives and was bummed for losing his last one. All of sudden, Bailey, the lab jumped up and started sniffing the couch and would not stop. Assuming Bailey had a toy stuck under it, my husband extended the recliner on the couch and crawled under to see what Bailey was fussing about. Sure enough, his knife was right there!! He pulled it out and Bailey just lay back down, like no big deal. It was amazing. I never would have believed it if I didn't see it myself. What's even crazier is that 6 months before, we lived with them while our new house was being built. That is when my husband probably dropped his pocketknife. So, she knew it the entire time was there and didn't react until Justin started complaining about it. Such a smart GURL!!

My dog, at 7 months old, alerted me to the fact that my husband had had a stroke and was having a seizure, saving his life. This was at 2:00 a.m. she was making noises and sitting with all 4s on his chest. She's an Australian Koolie and oh so smart. She's had no training for this. She is a Therapy Dog and did this again when a woman that was checking into her program. Thibodeaux was resting by me when she suddenly jumped up and ran toward the woman and that woman suddenly fell over as she had a seizure. 911 was called and the woman recovered. She's been written up in a magazine and honored by our town, Sandy, Utah and by the Utah Chapter of the American Red Cross at a banquet for 14 other Everyday Heroes...she was the only animal. I'm very proud of her and she's the sweetest and smartest dog ever...no training for this; it's just built in.

My grand parents had a dog named general and he knows not to be on the couch but when my grandparents went up stairs he would jump up to be by me he will and get down when he heard them about to come downstairs? During the Winter he would sneak my coat off the couch and wrap himself in it😂 because I would give him the most attention and love. So anything that had my scent on it he would lay on.

We had a dog, he didn’t know he was a dog, he thought he was just little children he would climb up and down the slide, he put his front paws on the swing and walk back and forth…he only barked backed twice in his 10 years with us, he barked at a snake in the back yard, he was warning us….and once there was a man climbing over the back yard fence, we loved him so much, sadly he died…broke my heart

I taught my Pitbull to pull me in my wheelchair. she knew first, second and third gears also neutral and stop. I was able to teach her left turn and right turn in two days. her entire training took one summer to master but she loved to do it and we went everywhere together for many summers. I miss that dog. she was my best friend.

Those are smart dogs. I had one who knew bedtime. If you said it, she’d grab her bed and bring it upstairs. At 10, if we didn’t tell her, she’d grab her bed and bring it upstairs. She knew leash too. She’d grab it when we said it or being it to us when she wanted to go outside. I love Pits. They get such a bad wrap.

My chihuahua knows pointing, never trained her to do it. It's to the point where I can point towards a couch for example, and the object is behind the couch, and shell understand that it's either behind it or under it. Shell even understand that it's under something like a blanket. Shes a weird one, she also herds other dogs, if you tell the other dogs "go outside", shell start rounding them up. She does a lot of weird things that other breeds have been bred to do, she just somehow had these abilities without training them. She can also understand "show me", which she just also picked up naturally, when she cries and you tell her "show me", shell paw at what is on her mind, and then paw your hand. Or if she wants a blanket, shell paw at the blanket, and then paw where she wants you to put it. I got her from some random person in a grocery store parking lot, I think she has a lot of techichi genes, shes nearly hairless. She's the smartest dog i've had.

True. I was training my pup who liked to run away and would never respond to "Stop! stop! Come come here!" Then one day though we lived in the country never much traffic, I heard a car and Oh my god! She was running too far ahead, I screamed "Stop Sheba stop then *FREEZE!!* She froze in her tracks, never moved an inch. I realized she could sense my emotion. And knew I meant Don't you move! From that day on though she would freeze every time, very smart, and funny. I miss terribly she was 17 years old.

Tess Sanders, I had a shi tzu and terrier mixes & they were that same exact way. They could sense my emotion and would stop immediately. When I took them to a huge soccer park in town, I'd let them off leash because no one was around and when they went too far I'd whistle real loud and they'd turn & come back my direction. They didn't always listen well but when we were outside in public, they were always on leash.

Hey! I had a very similar situation with a dog friend of mine. My friend and her sister went to the gym and left me their dog with me to take her for a walk. When I did (the stupid mistake), of leaving her without leash, she started run towards the street. I ran to her, very afraid that she could ran towards the cars. When I finally screamed in fear she understood, she froze and wait for me. I swear it was one of the biggest fear I had on my life. I would be very heartbroken, to bring a dead dog to my friends because she would be hit by a car. Fortunately, she understood, she froze and waited for me sitting in place. Man, whenever I'll have a dog friend by myself alone, I will never ever leave the leash. That was a special lesson that I have learned.

My god. My Service Dog Katie and I could have told you far more than this story does. Katie is a Golden Retriever Service Dog that knows more than some people I know. I don’t have to use commands with her. If I need her to bring me something like the remote she knows the remote and will pick it up carefully and will bring it straight to me. I think you’re right. Scientists are just working out what owners of cattle & sheep dogs, or people who’ve behaved towards their dog as though they are a true family member have been pretty sure of for a long time. They’re have been, and are, dogs in our extended family who were real family members. They were always at family gatherings, & when they were getting old & sick, everyone was told & came to visit before they passed away.

My little girl Amy (beloved friend) will be 18n years old this year. She is very smart and we have spent a lot of time together, train/play. Amy can sit, stay, down, come, fetch, shake, sit up and dance all by sign language I made up. She is my soul mate and I hate any time I have to be away from her. I have never won a staring contest with her. I ask her to wink and sometimes she does it. lol I always try to come up with something new to teach her as its like play time for the both of us. I had a lab mix that loved holidays.especially Halloween and Christmas. Halloween when the kids would come to the door, she would help me greet them, didn't bark at them or try to run just kind of said hello in her dog way. At Christmas she loved opening her presents. My kids & would always sit around the room and take turns opening gifts so everyone could see. When Kasey got her gift open, she would go around the room and show it to everyone. She took her turns just like everyone else. She was a sweet special dog.

The love I had with my boy Lucky was the most pure love I’ve ever known. He was the best friend I have ever had. I lost him to Kidney Disease 4 months ago and life will never be the same without him. He was brilliant and he and I had the ability to communicate without saying a word. I will miss him for the rest of my life 😔

Kate has helped Henry through the roughest part. I look at Lex's pic everyday and try and remember how funny he was and that I will see him one day. This is so incredible, but not all that shocking. It just validates so much of what I thought. My beloved dog went completely blind 5 years ago ( at 7 yrs old) and the things we have learned together is a daily revelation. Yes their nose is an amazing thing and the way that it has kicked into high gear is remarkable, but what has been most amazing has been what I’ve learned from a creature who never feels sorry for himself…and just wants to play , figure things out and be loved. I cannot imagine not sharing life with a dog. What a gift.

Dogs are so much smarter then we give them credit for. I realised this when our Australian cattle dog was 9 weeks old. I rolled a ball and it went under the couch, the little guy walked around the couch to see if it came out on the other side. I was stunned! Today he knows the name of every toy we gave one, he understands complicated instructions about when he is expected to do something and makes decisions based on choices you give him. He taught me so much and I already fear the day we have to part.

I have taught my Golden Retriever to do this same thing to a different degree. She knows the names of many toys and goes to find them in other areas of the house. Not just 2 or 3. Probably 20-30. I work on gaining and keeping her attention more than anything else, and it allows us to communicate pretty effectively. The best part of this whole thing is that she seems to truly be proud of herself for understanding what I am asking her to do. Really neat to know that someone has been studying this behavior.

Awesome! I had Golden Retriever decades ago and she was amazing! Hugh vocabulary and understanding. One of her many task was retrieving the daily newspaper; delivering to my mother; then, mother told her to take the newspaper to grandparents who lived next door. She was so proud to complete this task daily. When grandparents finished; they would tell her to take paper home.....and she would! She was accustomed to my car being parked in certain place recognizing that I was home. On the occasion when running home to leave again and not parking in usual space; she would sit in the "at home space" and bark. I miss her so much....an amazing dog and friend. Enjoy yours!

The mention of eye contact between the person and their dog is very true. I've had dogs all my life and have had deep bonds with some of them. One of my rescue dogs, a female black Lab, was very nervous when I first got her. It didn't take long after I had adopted her, to realize that she had been abused by past owner(s). She was very skittish & submissive, wouldn't make eye contact, kept her tail mostly tucked and head lowered. She didn't seem to know what to do with a toy, and she didn't want to play with my other dog in the beginning. She basically acted as if she expected to be hit all the time. I didn't know anything about her history, but I assumed that had been her past experience. The one time I raised my voice in anger (not at her) in her presence, she ran to the corner of the room cowering and shaking, with her face to the wall- obviously expecting to be hit. It broke my heart to see that. It took many months of patiently waiting for her to be comfortable accepting a gentle touch without fear. I realized she finally trusted me when she began making eye contact with me and was relaxed. A couple of months after I had adopted her, my mom said "That dog adores you. She doesn't take her eyes off of you." I told Mom, "I may be the only person in her life who has ever treated her kindly." At that point, I knew she watched me & wanted to be near me. But she still would avert her eyes if I looked into her eyes. Months later, one day she looked into my eyes, relaxed and without fear. I knew then, that she was permanently bonded to me, and loved and trusted me.

That sounds so much like the little Chihuahua that I recently adopted through a rescue foundation. She just made eye contact with me a few days ago and has begun wagging her tail. Toys are still foreign to her but I have found two pair of my socks tucked in the back of her kennel. Such a sweet girl I have found.

@@juniebugg9819 Good luck with your girl. The first time Brook was naughty, (nothing terrible - she stole a sandwich off the table when I turned my back.) I was actually proud of her for misbehaving. Why? Because I knew she understood she would not be harshly punished. I laughed, took the sandwich from her, broke it into small pieces, and fed it to her. Normally, that would be a dumb move- to reward your dog for misbehaving. But I wanted her to know she was safe and wouldn't be hurt, even if she was tempted and broke one of my "rules". Some of my friends saw her when I first got her, then were amazed months later at the change in her. One friend asked, "What did you do? I can't believe that's the same dog, she's so different now." I replied "I just loved her." I believe dogs understand when we rescue them from terrible situations, and are very grateful and loyal to us. She was the sweetest, most gentle dog. There was no reason to treat her badly. (If you have a bad temper, or are easily angered- you shouldn't have a dog!) She watched my interactions with my other dog, and realized she was safe. She relaxed with me, and her sweet personality blossomed. This was years ago, she's gone now. I was glad she came into my life and I made sure she the rest of her life, with me, was happy. I have some sweet memories of her years with me and another rescued Lab, Riley. When Brook passed away, Riley cried along with me. They understand much more than we give them credit for.
