Beautiful! It reminds me of the pre-historic tall round houses in Scotland, called 'brochs'. The stone were laid to slope outwards to prevent rain from entering the interior. Google Mousa Broch.

please can someone tell me if what i am thinking of doing is inappropriate or okay. I was told how shameful it was to place a statue of Buddha's head on the ground in the garden, so I don't want to make such a grave mistake. Can I make a rose trellis out of a torii gate?

Torii gate is a holy gate in Japan, so we can't wrap roses around it too much 😅.

To me, I see every tree (and piece of lumber) and stone as something much bigger than us. They are part of a process that has been happening for millions of years and it is beautiful thing to see, hold and work with a unique piece of wood or stone.
