One of my favorite places. I live in the area, am a member and visit often. Glad to hear they are removing some of the invasives and replacing with natives. It is also lovely in the winter.

Interesting that the garden is oriented to both Spring and Fall. In "The Tale of Genji," the mansion at Rokujo has gardens planted to the tastes of Genji's favorite "wives" and female relations; the two most splendid are the Spring garden, for his true love, Murasaki, and the Fall garden, created for the Empress, who had been his ward.

wOw. So pretty. I'm jealous. I live in Quebec at the foot of a mountain (think Vermont). We just had 10" of snow - which melted in 2 days! - and the ground is absolutely saturated with snowmelt. Coltsfoot is starting to bloom and new growth is starting to peek. Can't wait to get out there.
