Bikes seem to be becoming so complicated these days. Yes, I know that tech moves on and improves but sometimes I long to go back to the time when bikes were just simple, beautiful objects that were easy to set up and maintain myself. I know that retro bikes are available but they're very much a niche market. That said, this bilke is definitely a beautiful object.

Unlike mechanical cables. It’s highly unlikely you’ll ever get to replace a Di2 electronic cables or junction box. Since the electronic cables has no moving parts. The only thing you’ll service regularly is topping up the hydraulic fluids. The Di2 battery when it eventually degrades.
@roadbikechannel3 жыл бұрын
Internal cable routing for sure is a matter of taste. It gives you a very clean look though ;). If you're more into classic cable routing this might suit you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6GtmGicntyCjbc

Nice build and thanks for the part list! Surprised to see a "standard issue" di2 battery, I would have expected a lighter one (i.e a smaller or even a non rechargeable).

excellent video, does anyone know where I can get that handlebar? It is not on Lapierre's website and I really want to buy it, is it produced by Lapierre or another brand? If anyone has any information that would be great, thanks.

Thanks for the nice video... brought me though a particularly nasty zwifting session ;) I actually got a Xelius Frameset myself. Do you have any building manual? Because mine came with just the usual useless general bike manual, but with zero instructions on how to build the bike up (sequence, torque settings and so on) and apparently the vendor doesnt have one either. I wrote to Lapierre but they have not replied so far and I am starting to get a bit frustrated. So any help would be much appreciated!

It's a bike-fitting tool by bikesetting.com ;)
@eliteharrington73773 жыл бұрын
@@roadbikechannel thanks for the info. I have no intention of purchasing one since I'm just a recreational cyclist. Seeing you use that tool for a precise set up put a smile on my face, because it'll take me some time to get my fitting correct as all I have access to is a measuring tape and a plum Bob 🤭🥴 God bless.
@sbccbc74713 жыл бұрын
@@eliteharrington7377 This is usually used by pro cycling teams as they need to build lots of bikes for lots of riders and they can't keep calling for the pros for a bike fit every time a new unit of theirs is built. So they just use their latest bike fit data and this rig to set up their fit for every new bike built. This equipment is not targeted at individual consumers.

L' UCI a une limite a 6.8 et lapierre est incapable de sortir un velo à ce poids là. Je roule sur SL 7.0 mais je ne comprend pas pourquoi il ne cherche pas a resoudre l'equation
@xGshikamaru2 жыл бұрын
Parce qu'il y a plus important, l'aérodynamisme et la rigidité notamment valent plus de calories économisés que quelques centaines de grammes, surtout aux vitesses auxquelles roulent les pros.
@romanarnold40643 жыл бұрын
You really should address the bottom bracket issue in a comment; talk to the company about it or something as it reflects badly on the company if they can’t get something right on a bike for a pro rider. I would expect some slop in the tolerances occasionally but if it’s for a pro just like electronics you tend to bin them.
@roadbikechannel3 жыл бұрын
Some true words there. Power loss in the bottom bracket is a serious thing. Personally I think it's interesting to see how the pro teams deal with it (or don't ;)).
