Why the complaint by the _Express?_ BRexiters _knew_ this would happen - I heard them say, over and over, they _knew what they were voting for._ And some of those things include EU infrastructure projects (and other projects such as Galileo). The UK no longer contributes to the EU pot, nor to entities such as the EBRD. In fact, the UK specifically liquidated its assets in EU banks, so the UK has to go its own way, use their own money, restrain projects to within their own borders - it's what BRexiters campaigned for, it's what they _wanted!_

In fairness, I realised years ago, while working in a newsagent which afforded me the opportunity to read all of the daily newspapers and tabloids, that the perpetual state of anger is actually the primary purpose of the Daily Express and Mail. We often focus on stories about politics and crime but look closer and the flames they stoke are everywhere. A few years ago I came across a person in a comment section ranting about the RBL who run, among other things, the annual poppy appeal. Sure enough I traced the accusations back to a DM article where they found out that the RBL have somewhere in the region of tens of millions of pounds in the bank. Not actually an unreasonable amount of money given that is only really equates to £1 for every UK citizen but enough to drive someone without numeracy skills apoplectic. The story is clearly mischief because they have used something true but harmless to generate a negative story about a charity which helps war veterans. Why else would anybody do that? What saddens me most is the detrimental effect these things have on the mental health of some very vulnerable people. Putting the politics aside, these, often retired people, are being told daily and probably more often due to social media that even charities are against them. That the world is evil and the only way to fix it is, laughably, to vote for one of the same two political parties that have been running the country for decades, if not centuries.

You make a good point in your last paragraph. In a way, readers of those papers are victims of them.
@robwri954410 ай бұрын
@@chachar7458 It is difficult this one because in a way they do choose to put themselves through this. It is very similar to addiction. I suspect the effect is quite similar. They think they are learning, that they know things the rest of us don't and that they are saving the world which probably does release dopamine. On top of this you get the cycle where what they are saying is so obviously rediculous that people cannot help themselves but interupt and correct them. In turn they get pushed into their happy(ish) bubble where they are special and everyone else is stupid. It is a mistake to think this behaviour is new but social media has amplified it because it gives them more people to reinforce their delusions.

The network on the map shows connections to non Eu countries with an arrow showing that there is a connection but it's not part of the unified network. As you can on the map the network does not go into northern Ireland but stops at the boarder and an arrow shows the connection. They do the same with Britain where the networks ends at the channel tunnel with an arrow showing the existing rail connection.
