I love how the people who tolerate censorship will claim that this or that censorship is “not a big deal” and will insult the people criticizing it until censorship starts affecting the things that THEY personally care about. Then they turn into the exact same people that they were just insulting and it makes them come off as very one-sided and hypocritical. But you get what you tolerate/enable, right? When you described how some corporations will agenda push and virtue signal but then turn around and approve of censorship of the things that they were just virtue signaling and how it shows how they actually don’t care about such things and just want to make more money, my mind instantly goes to Disney. They are perhaps the biggest offender of that kind of behavior. This reminds me I was watching the Chinese animated show for demons and gods and I noticed at first when some people characters were shown like The Alchemist receptionist she was designed with her chest being exposed soon opening of her clothes but after this other female character appeared who was a potential love interest for the main character running at him chest or jiggling anime fashion the next time we see I the characters after the story arc where are the second female character was shown strangely every female character that had an exposed chest had a Final Fantasy 7 remake Tifa styled undershirt covering them in any jiggling animation that was shown was toned down

Thank god, a comments section that isn’t being hypocritical and encouraging censorship of a show they personally dislike or saying the same annoying “based China” comments. I really hate censorship as well. It doesn’t matter if it’s content I like, content I hate, or content I’m neutral towards (like Arcane, because I don’t have an opinion on it because I never watched it). I am not a fan of any fictional media with incest. Do I want that media to be censored? No. That is what the creator wanted in their creation, and it should be left alone. But unfortunately, that is not the reality we have, because other countries will ban or censor that content. I’m not gonna just sit there and say, “well, who cares, what do you want us to do about it,” or “a little bit of censorship is good actually,” because it won’t stop at one thing. The encouragement of censorship makes more problems for creators and creative freedom. Just look at what Visa and Mastercard are doing to Japanese creators and mangakas. Is it karma for the people that watch Arcane and wanted to censor other content people liked because they personally don’t like it? Yes. Is China “based” for censoring Arcane? No. It’s a typical country L for them to censor content. It would’ve made the LGBT representation in Arcane better if Netflix just did not bother airing it in China and other places that are infamous for censorship. With anime, the story really isnt affected with the chamges because its just a wardrobe adjustment. With the Netflix show, changing the scene would dynamically change the character unless its put there just to score ESG points amd can be removed easily which is even worse.

I've heard that the webtoon teenage mercenary / mercenary enrolment could potentially be getting an anime addition (according to supposedly very reliable sources), & if it's true, I'm woried about how much they will change. It will apparently need to change a lot (according to what I've heard), probably because it is incredibly violent. People get beaten to a bloody pulp regularly, & some chapters have violence warnings at the start.
