For example, as you may know, he is a gay, and his interpretation of the bible authorizes and encourages these kinds of relationships as accepted by God.

@@dave1370 Well there is about a million different ways to take my comment, so that’s fair that you took it that way. ♥️ But I was actually referring to the war on Truth, and how even churches have compromised it now. Preferring “niceness” above truth, and viewing any about of honesty concerning lifestyle, theology, God, as harsh or mean or rude. Even when you earnestly do try to speak all things in love and out of love. It’s more the sudden revealing of the truth that they don’t like. So it’s easier for them to title you as sort of “not being Christlike” and “rude”, instead of actually considering the thing you have just spoken. And taking that thing on its own to consider if it’s true or false. People don’t care anymore vastly as a whole. They just want smiles and nice, even as they trot straight to hell, while believing they are Christian. But you speak a basic Biblical truth like the Gospel, and now you’re “being mean”. Paul specifically… would have some really strong words today if he saw what I’m talking about in the Church. I don’t think anyone would consider what he would have to say as “nice”. Paul was a very strong and direct man, from how I read him at least. He often was very set apart from the others because he was very different. Today our churches would rebuke Paul for their “11th commandment”.

@@austink641 Why just the pre-born then? Why not just kill more people outside the womb to reduce poverty? Fewer people = less drain on limited resources. Why limit the "choice" to those (conveniently and helplessly) still in the womb? In some societies, not only pre-born but babies up to 2 years old could be left to die on a mountaintop. Is that wrong, and why?
@hudjahulos
@hudjahulos 2 жыл бұрын
@@austink641 *A Christian can say “I see that all life God created is good” and thus value pre-born life* How much do you value it? Apparently not enough to fight to preserve it. *while also recognizing a poor pregnant woman, by continuing the pregnancy, will likely lose her job for taking time off to care for herself and her developing baby, creating circumstances that would jeopardize her very life. This is a real things that happens often.* Even granting all that, that still doesn't justify the taking of the unborn life. I can speak from personal experience that my mom was poor and single when she had me. She was in nursing school and made unbelievable sacrifices to provide me with everything I needed. This was all before she became a Christian which testifies to the incredible _natural_ love that a woman should have for her child. If a Christian woman is legitimately confronted with the moral dilemma or choosing between her life and the life of her child, and I suspect this is very rare contrary to your postulate, would you really encourage the mother to preserve her own life at the sake of the baby? What does the Bible teach? Self-preservation or self-sacrifice? I could rattle off verses if there is any doubt in your mind. I remember during my wife's first pregnancy I asked her what she would say if there was a medical complication that could put her life at risk and I will never forget what she said. "I would never kill a baby just to save myself." I was stunned. I will never have to make that choice as a man and thankfully neither did she, but for her at least the choice was clear. *It is always more risky to be pregnant than to not be pregnant* This is true. *especially if you’re living in poverty. 50% of abortions are obtained by those in poverty, with the next 25% at or near poverty levels.* The current poverty level for the continental U.S. is 17,240$ annually. If that's what you mean by "poverty" than realize that nearly every single person is human history has had less than that. You would justify the killing of nearly everyone in history based on your blatantly non-biblical standard. The Bible teaches that children are a _blessing,_ not a financial _burden_ as you suggest. Even today, the poorest countries tend to have the most children and the fewest abortions. Why do you think that is? *This is why focusing on the policies that increase economic security, education, and access to healthcare* Those are all good blessings, but that's not what Christians seek first - Matthew 6:33. *dramatically reduce abortions without tying the hands of women who know the risks in front of them. This is why the pragmatic position - one in which you don’t outlaw abortion but seek to address the circumstances in which they are obtained - is a moral and Christian position to take.* Do you want to "dramatically reduce" sex trafficking or do you want it abolished? Would you have argued for the "dramatic reduction" of slavery or for it's abolition in the 19th century? Where does God ever qualify any of his laws in terms of reduction? My Bible says "thou shall" and "thou shall not". Jesus said "Go and sin no more." The Bible is clear and the Christian position is clear.

@@austink641 regarding losing her job to care for herself... endangering her very life... Ever heard of the family medical leave act (FMLA)? An employer would have to be really stupid to fire a woman over pregnancy related issues. They would end up in court. Secondarily, a Christian can also say that bad and or immoral decisions have consequences. If you are in no position to support a child, don't get pregnant. If one is married and birth control fails, supporting you is a husband's responsibility. If you are single, well, everyone knows how pregnancy occurs, and under that status, that is called fornication. And God's law prohibits that. Sin has consequences. Because sin is a conscious decision to disregard God's will and established order. Not to judge, given that I have learned a few hard lessons as a consequence of my choices as well, and thank God that there is grace. There are Christian groups and organizations through which Christians manifest that grace by offering compassion, emotional and practical support, and love to girls and women who find themselves pregnant. There are also Christian support groups who help women who have made an irreversible "choice". Your "compassionate" option ignores this consequence of sin. Ever seen a woman dealing with the realization that "I killed my baby "? That is an exact quote I have witnessed a woman make. It was said amid sobbing and tears. No one was accusing the woman, there was no context of it even being a topic of discussion. It was just a heartfelt, gut wrenching recognition of the truth of her irreversible choice. Your argument that the baby is expendable in the name of Christian compassion is, frankly, abhorrent.
@AnniEast
@AnniEast 2 жыл бұрын
Jay Hu and Mark, both your comments are filled with excellent points and I truly pray the pro choice Christian would reevaluate their position and seek God through His Spirit and Word on the matter. I was once a 'whatever rocks your boat' and 'who am I to judge' type of girl, but since the Spirit came to reside within me, His Words echo so loudly in my head...here is an example...You knitted me together in my mother's womb, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. We cannot ignore the fact that abortion means to end the life of a living, growing and already loved by God human being. Regardless of the circumstances that brought this life into being, it's not that little growing human' s fault their parents are messed up. What they deserve is respect and love, and what is more respectful and loving than to not kill them, but to grand them a chance at life as that mother was granted a chance at life. I'm still pro choice, I'm always pro women making good choices...one of those very good choices would be to not kill your baby. There are wonderful organizations that can help.

One thing I notice, and maybe because I was guilty of this at one point in my life, is that a lot people in the pro-choice camp want to create Jesus in their own image. What I mean is, they want a libertarian Jesus who says love one and another and judge not, etc. but not the one who talks about the road to Heaven being narrow. They refer to the parts of scripture that talk about the forgiveness of sin, but leave out the follow up, the part where Jesus tells us to sin no more. Can anyone live up to that standard 100%? Of course not. But you can't have it both ways. You can't be like Nancy Pelosi and play the Catholic card when it is convenient and push for legislation to legalize abortion and champion the LGBT agenda when that is convenient. Some of Christ's sternest warnings were to the Pharisee's for being hypocrites. If you want to promote sin, promote it. But if you do, you need to understand what that means and what camp it puts you in. I know because I spent too many years swimming in the devil's lake. To borrow a cliché that fits here, you can't be a little bit pregnant. I pray for all of us because none of us are worthy. On that point, I will find common ground with that young man.

Psalm 26:5 "I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And will not sit with the wicked." Psalm 34:21 "Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned." Psalm 97:10 "You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked." Considering David (The Psalmist) had the heart of God, and God is Jesus, (I personally feel like) these verses should not be over looked as to how much the Lord God Jesus hates sin, He can't stand the sight of it. It makes me nervous for people who try to defend their sin by abusing the grace that Jesus provided by His excruciation death on the cross for all of us. I used to defend sin too, but the convictions are too much. It actually hurts physically not just spiritually. How seared is their conscience for them not to feel anything. The god of this age is disgusting.

Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. This world is fading fast. Your troubles are temporary! Yes, and Jesus also said to hate what is evil. Killing babies is evil. I'm also speaking as a woman who had an abortion before coming to the Lord. I was blinded to the world. I'm so ashamed to know what I did and so grateful Jesus forgives. These people need to know the truth so they can be sorry. The Lord loves a contrite spirit and a broken heart (Psalm 34:18, 51:17 and Isaiah 57:15.) They don't get the forgiveness without the "I'm sorry" that's not how it works. Grace is not to be abused.

The Bible also says that if a person claims to love God and hate fellow human beings, they are a liar. You can't prioritize believing in Christ over loving enemies because believing in Christ means following His example, and Christ loved His enemies.

@@decepticonxhunter4850 actually it says "if a man says I loves God but hates his BROTHER is a liar."(1 John 4:20) it doesn't say human beings. A brother is someone else who believes in Christ. Not an outsider. But that's why Jesus also pointed out we should love out enemies. We shouldn't put words into scripture that isn't there. There are really only 2 greatest commandnents anyway. Trying to preform them all is next to impossible, hence Jesus on the cross anyway. If we were capable of performing all tasks in the Bible Jesus wouldn't have needed to die on the cross. It's not easy to love someone who makes it hard to love them. That's what we NEED Jesus.

The problem with Brandon Robertsons logic is that abortion is dehumanization by definition but then again he has a theology in which the priorities are backwards putting Jesus first gives you a logical justification for treating your Neighbour as you would like to be treated but a man Centered theology actually does the opposite and actually ends up devolving into morality being personal preference instead of an objective standard. .that might explain the logical leaps he's making.

That being said, murder in any form should still be illegal.

If you believe abortion is murder, what do think the penalty should be? Does the pregnant woman pay the same penalty as the doctor performing the abortion?
@Terminal-Vet
@Terminal-Vet 2 жыл бұрын
@@Jonas-gl9ke well, it has nothing to do with what I believe. Murder is defined as the willful taking of innocent human life, so abortion is definitely murder, regardless of what we choose to label it as. That being said, no. I don't think the penalty should be the same for the pregnant women as with the doctor. The reason millions of human babies are killed every year isn't so much because women are in an unpredictable crisis and need to be free of their babies. The reason is, it's super easy to get one, and they're so readily available. It's foolish to think a great many people use abortion as birth control when whomever didn't pull out on time. So, we just kill babies, because people were irresponsible. Of course we hear the arguments, "what about rape? What about incest?" That's less than 1% of all abortions, so that's not the real argument. The argument is for there to be no consequences for irresponsible behavior, except of course for the babies.
@Jonas-gl9ke
@Jonas-gl9ke 2 жыл бұрын
@@Terminal-Vet If you believe, “abortion is definitely murder” then it must logically follow that the doctor be punished for 1st degree murder. The pregnant woman would have to be an accessory (before or after the fact might be difficult to define) and therefore would probably face the same charge as the principal offender. Would you advocate that both the doctor and woman serve life in prison?
