Oh my goodness, that’s so early! I hope he survived and managed to live a healthy life ❤ The unfortunate truth is that many extremely premature babies do not survive outside mum. Babies in utero need the mother in order to survive. That is why it needs to be the mother’s choice on whether to carry to term. Which means that if something goes wrong in the pregnancy, DENYING ABORTION will end up with LETTING the MOTHER DIE. Just my two cents ... We don't really debate the legality of the issue. We debate the morality of it. This debate in the video is specific to whether or not the pro-choice crowd is willing to to end life or not. They want to argue that the aborted fetus wasn't a living being therefore there was no conflict with personal morality. So they do the dance of trying to argue that the fetus isn't alive. But in order to prove that argument you have to argue when the fetus is considering a life form. Half the problem that both sides have with this issue is understanding the difference between an embryo and a fetus. I'd argue that when a developing child reaches fetus level it has developed enough to be consider a baby. You want to argue when life starts I'd say you need to take the argument to when the development of the baby is still in the pre-embryo stages. Because unless the fertilized egg implants itself onto the uterus, it will not develop into the higher stages. The problem is nobody in the pro-choice community wants to restrict the "abortion" to that small of a window. That basically gives a woman a month to decide. Hell, an active woman might not even know she is pregnant for the first few months if her menstrual cycle is not regular. By the time she is even aware that she is pregnant the embryo may have even developed a heart beat which I think occurs around week six or seven. And that is why we still debate this decades later. Pro-choice doesn't want to address termination of a developing child with a heart beat and instead refer to it like this protestor did as a clump of cells. I'll be honest, I don't think this particular protestor has enough understanding of her own female biology to have an open debate on the subject. And she is arguing from a position of emotion and not logic or science. So when pushed with a logical response she has no idea how to reply.

What often seems impressively articulate is not sophisticated language at all but plain, absolute declarations which permit no ambiguity. I think it's worth pointing out here because oftentimes you'll see conservatives on other issues strive to be articulate, but in the sense of using sophisticated language to "hide the ball" or to be cleverly indirect. This is often because the person doesn't want to speak to the core of their position for fear of being called a name. But one only fears the enemy's taunts when one doesn't have clarity or confidence about the core principle one is advocating. There should be no cause for this for conservatives. Progressives are pro-death. They desire for any child who survives abortion to be put on puberty blockers. Saving that, they'd prefer they be homosexual. Saving that they'd prefer they undertake an eternal adolescence of masturbation. Most of the progressives you encounter are in the midst of that kind of life. A childless life seeking novelty and trivia rather than renewal and meaning. Conservatives should never come to a topic of debate against a progressive position with concerns that its possible that the progressive could be right about the core issue. If a progressive argument seems credible, you just need to pull back a bit and see what the argument is designed to accomplish. Nine times out of ten it's a fallacious trick and the remaining one-in-ten times it's a morally abominable conceit.

The issue isn't "is it living", after all plants are living things, it's that this is still an extension of a woman's body and within her rights to decide to go forward or not. And it is not "living" enough that it's going to suffer a loss anymore than killing a plant will cost it loss. She committed a strawman fallacy, calm or not. Not always. Sometimes abortion can be for the greater good. There is easily hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S. who should never procreate. But before y'all get too mad at me, I'm down for 3rd trimester compromise and abortions definitely shouldn't be paid for by taxes. Should have to come out of your pocket or not at all.
