Games like this and Sekiro are the future. It's so much fun when you have to adapt. It's like learning to ride a bike (frustration yes, but in the end you don't even think about it), you can watch your synapses grow from session to session, from hour to hour even. It's astonishing what our brains are capable of.

Unfortunately I dont have enough time or have enough fun playing to care enough to adapt. couple hours in I just switched to story mode so i can just quickly play through and switch games. there are just too many small quality of life bullshit problems in this game for me to invest my time in it. now if i was in highschool i might actually play this game the way it was intended.

I was shit at Grand Master, played until the Arena bit and turned it to Jedi Master after and had am uch better first time. Coming b ack to Grand Master and I got so good at the game that almost every single fight is pretty much a non issue. Except the final SS battle, that I die a lot no matter how many times I play.

Hey man. Been playing this on jedi master difficulty and was stuck on the Malicos fight. I didn't know that if you moved and dodged at the same time the perfect dodge mechanic doesn't work. Beat him this morning- feeling stoked!

Been playing this alot lately going up in difficulties each play, but I only JUST now noticed, when you unlock perfect evade it highlights basic attacks with a slight red trail when it's the right time to evade, as well as hearing it, this will help. Thank you man

Lol, i see these guys rinsing it on the top difficulty and wonder why my timing is a bit shit. I can parry and dodge just not at the higher levels. The timing is soooo precise. Is 37 too old? Lol. What will i be playing when i'm 60?

@@stu0508 Dont worry. just jump into grandmaster. Im 41, and thats the difficulty I started the game in. Can promise you one thing; you will feel like a true Jedi once you get the hang of things and manage to beat stuff. That short timing window is simple practice. in the end, it feels amazing to get down.

That delay hit with the single lightsaber is clutch if your fighting multiple human opponents. Try letting a few storm troopers surround you without locking on. If you throw that move out randomly at a trooper who is sleeping instant stamina break with a potential for a one shot takedown.

I love the aggression of the AI on higher difficulty but the damage is so high that 2 Hits from mini-bosses without HP upgrades is game-over...I wish we could customize the difficulty settings.

Fun fact(but I think url know this):the nydak can be one hit killed if you parry them 3 consecutive times..this is when you parry the first attack then they retaliate and you parry again, then another time and you will get the kill. But sometimes they will use an unblockable as their last retaliation

That quick Sprint attack tech is lifesaving so many enemies go down in one hit to that move and it’s the only way to bisect certain enemies without using Force

The pause square attack can actually hit through peoples guard doing a lil damage

Started with good stuff, then moved into moves that you just unlock. -- I didn't know and the game doesn't show that you can block/saber throw while jumping. -- I never even tried to jump over big enemies. -- Honestly, most of those things won't really be applicable until very late game, because your force depletes to quickly. Until you get the BD stim that replinishes your force too. -- My go to combo was, the running strike, the hold strike to saber transition, then crescent double saber throw, to either saber throw or dual saber strike. That combo is so much fun to watch. It just sucks that most things die too quickly even on GM.

It's is a gorgeous game to look at even on medium settings the star wars feel is spot on, the story is engaging and its fun to play. but it's not all sunshine and rainbows, the biggest thorn in my side with this game is the animations they are clunky and imprecise something they could have fixed or at least improved, I know it would have taken longer to finish the game but its the one thing lacking, polish and refinement. which is a heartbreaker for me as it stops it being game of the year which it should be. hopefully, there will be a part 2 and they can overhaul the animation system but for now, I am playing on easy as I am 65 and don't have the reaction time needed. its a fantastic piece of the star wars universe and the best we have had so far and a stunning achievement by the people at respawn but as a game, it falls short. but that's just my opinion for people that are less fussy about gameplay this is heaven on a stick and for those that are fussy, it's easily forgiven as everything else is just a joy to behold.

I use the sprint attack to get an early advantage on melee purge troopers and scout troopers and it's also very useful against purge trooper commanders

Hopefully EA has learned the we really do want single player game and we are willing to support any good game that's single player. A good way to have ng+ and keep your upgrades is you still have your push and pull locked at first, but you still have all the upgrades when you get them. That way you can't break progression, but don't have to refarm everything in ng+.

I feel weird like that, yuh I knew that, when he showed the combat, cs I really like the game and when I start out any game that allows me to explore my move set freely, in a sense, I do it until I can’t really do much else. Like Cal’s double jump I mix in with the throw which I later found out is what Cal as a boss does for one of his attacks. And I loved defeating troopers with just the kick and precise evade. Also, to be able to efficiently mix in the run slash animation into combat you have to make sure it’s balanced out because it isn’t really efficient when you’re close and attempting it like he is doing you have to parry all three which will knock the enemy back but by then you can just Insta kill.

Something I found out is that you can instant kill the Nightbrothers using the Grasping Pull, it quickly became my favourite ability. Makes them from a challenge to a complete joke.

I wish there was an NG+ where you can have access to all of the skills in the beginning haha, the precision evade is an absolute god tier skill and the dash strike dash (I know you can get this pretty early) makes me feel like an absolute beast zipping around (literally makes you as fast as Trilla once you get the hang of it) - the dual lightsaber techs are insane too in this game

I'm terribly late to this, but... I found weird you said that perfect dodges are hard, since I find them incredibly easy and broken. When I reached the demonstration part I understood why: You don't block while doing it, and yoy only do try it once. The thing is, when you block you can dodge without releasing the block button, so you can be safe with the block if you do it late and be safe with the normal dodge if you do it early and miss the perfect one, which covers all your vulnerabilities. And that's not all, since you have a lot of time to convert a normal dodge into a long dodge, and converting it at the correct time gives you a perfect dodge instead of a long dodge, so if you are super early with your timming you can basically cover your vulnerable dodge late frames into a perfect dodge or, if missed a long rol backwards which will normally get you completly safe. Doing this is so broken it's ridiculous.
