You're right about the minute marks, but the Rolex Submariner (and older Sea Dweller) have the same style bezel with only 15 minutes marked and they set the style for the category.

Does your Rolex Deepsea fogging up under the crystal after running cold water over the faucet? It would be easier to see the fog if you shine a flashlight over the crystal. The fog will disappear after the watch warms up. Thanks

Nobody goes that deep but it makes it more reliable. I will keep my old cheap Casio which have not failed yet. So no I do not need a $4000 watch.

Mechanical Engineer here: the 200 or 300m of water resistance are actually with purpose and not gimmicks. Besides the extreme depth watches, they are just the engineering version of who has the longest. The pressure tests fot wristwatches are made for static pressures. No movement and nothing touches the watch Besides water and a non moving stand. Now imagine you have a 50m capable watch and you bang it against a rock, ur dive light or something hard... High chances it starts leaking which is pretty sure the death of a delicate mechanical watch. That's why watches are water resistant to these depths. So they can endure more than just the pressure at depth. Also not just Boyles law. The ideal gas law counts here. Temperature, especially colder ones make the oros inaccurate. Not much though. But I saw a video of the watch in 9°C water and it was off by 1 to 2m. Nothing wild but I wouldn't trust it for deco.
