This was very interesting and educational. I’m a little curious.., what do you think of the new type of ball they introduced in the early 2000s?(lighter and more unpredictable) I’m personally not a fan, and it also makes it more difficult to compare players through the different eras. Have you ever played with old type of soccer balls?
@AmericanProfessional14 жыл бұрын
The ball that sticks out in my mind as an old, and odd, ball is the jabulani from the 2010 World Cup. We used a few in highschool and I saw the devastation they caused at that years World Cup. Completely unpredictable and a mess to deal with on rebounds. Wouldn’t recommend they make balls like that again. Thanks for the comment. Hope that answered your question.

Hi Macklin! What about a video of fence positioning? I know it will depend on each Goalkeeper, but the fundamentals are pretty the same.. Why more or less players, why far side or more centred, why the “floor player”? Keep doing this amazing content!
@AmericanProfessional13 жыл бұрын
Hey, so I've never heard of the term Fence Positioning but I'm assuming you're asking how to set up a wall on free kicks? If that's the case, my general rule is to have 5 players in the wall when the free kick is positioned within the boundaries of the "D". 4 players in the wall outside of the D, and 3 players in the wall if its outside the front line of the 18 yard box. I also position my wall with atleast one player outside of the near post so that the striker cant bend the ball around and into my net. Ill plan on making a more detailed analysis/video in the near future. Hope that helps in the meantime.

My personal opinion: 3 greatest goalkeepers of all time: Oliver Kahn (he had the craziest reflexes in football history), Manuel Neuer (he revolutionized goalkeeping #sweeperkeeper) and Lev Yashin. Btw you could do a Oliver Kahn video, I promise you the craziest saves the world has ever seen, he was catching bullets, he was the goat (I'm a goalie too playing in Germany and he was my role model!). The video I can recommend you is called: "Oliver Kahn - TITAN - Legendary goalkeeper" it s a 11 min video (11:42 to be precise). The craziest save compilation you ll ever find, I swear.

Oliver Kahn also almost won a Ballo d'Or crica 2001 or 2002

He should’ve in my opinion. Especially in 2001. But I’m biased.

I mean come on how was there no de gea saves in there at all. Surely the double save vs arsenal or his save from the header that was literally 4 yards out against Sevilla 2018 deserved to be in there.
@AmericanProfessional14 жыл бұрын
I saw the save against Arsenal live. Top class. I believe some people are just simply biased against de gea. They think that he’s too inconsistent, despite making worldly saves on occasion. Thanks for the comment.

@@AmericanProfessional1 to be fair I can see where they’re coming from he has had a few bad runs of form good example would be the Watford goal and early in his career but it didn’t help that he needed laser eye surgery when we signed him 😂. Quite important that the keeper has good vision I’d say. Keep up the good content

Will do my friend. Had no clue he needed eye surgery though before coming to United. Freaking nuts haha.

Can I just ask what level is considered professional football in America, cause as far as I'm concerned the MLS is the only professional mens football league in the US
@AmericanProfessional14 жыл бұрын
4 leagues pay players, and technically are considered “pro leagues” by fifas international body. However, the 3rd and 4th divisions don’t pay enough to survive unless you are on an MLS reserve side participating in the lower league. This means they are mostly made of young kids and college guys. When I played in the NASL (2nd division US) some guys were making 1.25 mill a year, so I guess consider it whatever way you like. Hope that helped clarify though.

The funny thing is Ceni on number 2 would have probably buried that FK

It’s likely a result of copyright. I’ve been hit with multiple violations over the past month, KZbin really trying to crack down. I will look into it and see if there is anything I can do about it. Thanks for letting me know.

Taffarel penalty save was in the US at world cup '94. You should know it's in the country you were born in ;-)
@AmericanProfessional14 жыл бұрын
Hahaha that’s awesome. I was actually born in ‘94 so tough tourney for me to remember! Cool to think that my soccer career is likely a result of the ‘94 World Cup though. US soccer was just gaining popularity as I was growing up in the early 90’s and I have no doubt that influenced my desire to play early on.
