I need to learn my chords first because at the moment your discussion on these chords is presently above my pay grade and as I am an old (73) note reader and I fear I am too old to learn the nuances of jazz which I have always loved.

This is a great lesson! I've been a member of PWJ for a second year in a row now, and I intend to stay onboard. I just wish you could create a series with this type of video (maybe with longer duration), with more lessons on repertoire and more in-depth analysis of tunes. You could call it Buiding Your Jazz Repertoire, or Learning Jazz Standards ... PianoGroove have their monthly workshop on a jazz tune and Jazz Piano School have a Tune of the Month series, with one 1-hour seminar per week. I do prefer your website, so that's why I intend to stay on a member, but I do feel the need for something similar. Just an idea :-) Keep it up, PWJ, you are the best!

Wow, for someone who understands what you are talking about, this is a really frank honest friendly breakdown, and very lucid. Cheers, I'll be sure to watch another episode..

Mr. J, I have learned a lot from you in a very short time. I love how you break it down. Teaching us how to play chords in variation. It amazes me how a piece of music can sound like it has a thousand different chords in it, yet it doesn't, it is just how you voice it. Keep doing what you do because you do it well. Thanks a million. 10/5/2023

Wonderful. Worth the price of admission just to hear you play😄 Notably you are completely comfortable with the lyrics which is why you swing so hard!

From the way you sound, you're an accomplished pro. Your knowledge & skill are quite a handful to digest. To a learner, this is all greek. But thnx for explaining. Cheers.

Jonny, what is that keyboard? Terrific sound without that acoustic piano "oing" when the unisons go.
