Whether a drug or combination of drugs helps someone it is individual to that person if induces and maintains remission of their disease. I have heard real accounts of people taking azathioprine alone and it working for years. So really mono therapy should be a first choice, if they get worse then of course consider using a biologic. I just think if you can do well on just one then that's better than two medications with side effects. I have to go with this anyway because in the NHS they are only offering me azathioprine and would never put someone on two medications if it wasn't necessary like if there were severe disease and in that case steriods are usually a first line med.

NHS doesn’t treat us with biological infusion just because it is too expensive. It is always said the biological infusion is much safer.
