Man, that Sally Hansen in the blue bottle is the bomb!! I’ve used it for years, but finally had to start ordering online when it disappeared from stores. And I have cuticles like hooves! Lol It’s even good enough to pat on rough heels! The big bottle from Sally works great, but it’s just too thin and messy to deal with - you almost have to just pour it in a bowl and soak like the old Palmolive commercials. (anyone else here old enough to remember those? 😂)

I see men who don’t do pedicures and manicures as being nasty and unclean, I’m a man. I do facial every day, when i don’t do facial for a week and push my nose backwards a lot of sebum (butter like) will ooze out, this is what men who don’t do facials accumulate on their face from year to year.

Not true. Guy who does facials once a year here. Gunk accumulates on your face due to follicular overactivity which you actively provoke by stripping your skin of natural oils too often. Facials and other superficial treatments will look and feel good in the short term, but ultimately if you don't change your diet and lifestyle (and environment), you're gonna have the unattactive stuff coming back to you. Wash your face with cold water multiple times a day. Don't paint your skin with grime and pollutants, but move out of the city. All your symptoms will go away. Stop wasting your time.

@@TheSalonLife @TheSalonLife PLEASE HELP! cause my cuticles and fingertip skin is so bad. The very tips of the top edge of my nail is always hard, like I bite my nails and skin, but I don’t. It’s so annoying and embarrassing too. (It’s actually the exact same spot as your husband, where the corners of the skin are just barely a faint yellow). Any tips on how to fix that? I'm going to take a stab at the "liquid nipper". Some people like the look where the cuticle and all the epidermis is cut away with cuticle nippers. Maybe this is supposed to remove all this without having to use nippers. Some people may not be good with nippers but want the look. (Sorry I didn't get the name of that area right) :)

@@TheSalonLife I mean using a cuticle pusher to push back the cuticles before applying cuticle remover
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 3 жыл бұрын
Ah I see. Before doing a traditional manicure with cuticle remover I don't push anything back. The cuticle remover is supposed to soften the area so you can manipulate better. For dry manicures I push back the proximal nail fold, exposing cuticle and then I remove the cuticle tissue with a fine bit on a minimum speed.
@roopaljain408
@roopaljain408 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheSalonLife that makes sense. Thank you so much. But why can't we use the same technique for dry manicures too?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 3 жыл бұрын
Again, not sure what you mean? Dry manicure is a different technique. You need to push back the proximal nail fold to expose cuticle and then remove it. You are using 2 different tools for it. In traditional manicure you can do both with the same tool. Push back the proximal nail fold and then remove the cuticle from the nail plate. But it's easier to do it when the skin is soft from the cuticle remover.

I have been on a quest to find out what is up with my fingernails. Thumbs, index, middle and ring fingers all have the same issue. Each corner at the tip gets incredibly sore, if I can magnify the area to look closely it's as if the nails grow out but down into the skin surrounding it. So, I can take toe nail clippers and wriggle it in under the overreaching fingernail and cut it. Within minutes it begins to subside the awful pain. And it looks as if an indentation is left behind from the nail digging in. I have cut the nail straight across, I have on an angle that makes it possible, I have done just about everything I know how to stop this from occurring but it keeps happening over and over again. Not all nails at once, not both corners of one nail at once, but always at least two suffering at a time. I am perplexed as this has never happened prior to my current age and stage in life. (56) Post-menopausal since age 45. When all hell broke loose with my body. I want to know what to call whatever condition this is. And figure out a way to fix it, and prevent it. It's so terribly painful. The pressure it puts on my finger tip skin makes touching things terribly painful. I also just noticed a slight red swollen looking, shiny skin above my nail bed. On each finger. Could my cuticles be causing this? I am truly at a loss. Could use some expert help. If you have the time I would really appreciate some input. ~Thank You~ 🌿🕊️💕🌍

Nail brightener. I have my 3 favourite ones listed in the description box :). I do wear all 3 of them. The Pink Gel Coat is beautiful but it’s a hardener so I wear it now every 4th mani. I don’t want to overdo it (and cause my nails to be brittle)

I don’t use cuticle removers. I feel they are useless. I use a cuticle oil and use the tools you used to push back my cuticles.

I use to use CND cuticle eraser or CND cuticle away. I liked both until someone turned me on to Blue Cross.

Do you like the Blue Cross now more? I have to admit, I'm liking it more and more :)

I do like the Blue Cross more now. I was surprised at well it works for it not being a gel consistency.

Do you know if the Cuticle away has an expiration date? How long did you keep your bottles? I bought mine in 2020 it's still full as I stopped doing my nails for a while, I've been looking for an expiration date on the bottle with no success

Yeah you should ask a man who works with his hands all day. I'm sure you give your man manicures cause his nails are nice. Testing this on someone who never gets Manis and uses their hands a lot would be more easily seen which products work the best!

Hi MSL here. I worked in automotive/hard labour jobs for my entire adult career, also competitive powerlifting, and a nail biter for 30 years. I don't have nice hands or nails naturally because of my profession and hobbies (also because I really don't care). The reason my hands do look as good as they do IS because Anna does manicures on me. She uses my hands because they are bad. It's to show that with regular manicures/maintenance and good products you can have nicer looking hands even in tradeswork. This is a great example that her methods and product selection do work. Have a great day! - MSL
