Pro-Palestinian students in Australia have began encampment at the University of Sydney. The green lawn in front of the sprawling Gothic sandstone edifice has become a focal point for hundreds of people who oppose Israel's ground invasion and bombardment of Gaza. On Friday, pro-Israel activists marched to the same location to counter-protest.

Thanks from rural NSW. Keep going! I protested against the same hegemonic forces, that have further metastasised since, two decades ago. We were weak (gen X, the feckless generation) we got crushed, we gave up and we lost. The cause is more urgent now and the generation of protestors is bolder, better organised and better informed.
