It's also a great example of just how different community diplo is to your classic 1v1 fights. In most cases, it was the pros who were disadvantaged because none of them have much experience playing diplomatically. It's a war game, and war is just politics continued via other means ;)

@johanferreira67282 жыл бұрын
@T90 I had an interesting regicide concept just now. Place all kings in an arena like trapped in by cliffs. Give each player a tower and 1 of each mil production building. Vils and eco in separate part of map. So it's a battle royal for the kings, always fighting with army - no vils to help and no new buildings - better protect the king and production buildings!
@johanferreira67282 жыл бұрын
Ps: you can still raid eco and go mil outside the arena, but need to balance it. Could be some interesting team scenarios where one focuses on protecting kings and the other raids

This was an awesome series. I loved every game. Just seeing the random community members diplo alongside pros is great. Throw in money for snipes and winning and its fun to see the betrayals. Its easy to see the players were having a lot of fun too. I thought there would be a championship game so I'm definitely in favor of seeing one in the future. It would be great to see the players that won by being sneaky get called out immediately in a finals.

@giantWario2 жыл бұрын
I gotta disagree with T90, I think Daut play was excellent. He was always gonna be teamed on by everyone anyway so one ally to trade with is all he needed. His mistake wasn't attacking Green and Blue at the start, his mistake was not getting water first to make sure blue couldn't escape. If Ganji actually dies early, there's no way Modri's team beats Daut and Grey.
@traniel1234567892 жыл бұрын
Yeah, him running up to 170 eco gave them the staying power they needed. Gray deciding to kill all his trade probably didn't help either.
@couchpotatoe912 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Had Daut been more considerate of his close potential allies he could've easily teamed with a player to go for the first and second place since this isn't winner-takes-all. Modri did it after all with Ganji. What a legend.

1:15:10 It's a really funny coincidence that I happened to watch this video after discovering a (random as all hell) show from 1977 called "Mind your language". It basically is "grandfather jokes" for 12 hours straight. It is so politically incorrect by todays standards it is a marvel to exist at all. (It's literally a 12 hour video on youtube but I think everyone will enjoy it for at least 90 minutes before you will need to step away since it's kinda the same joke over and over but it is charming nonetheless. It was a shame, the moment "Modri" said amigo my brain forever more would read his messages in the accent of the spanish guy from that show lol. It made this 10 times funnier than it rightfully should have been. TL;DR I read all of Modri's speech in an exaggerated spanish accent. Every time he said amigo, I heard it in my head with the same attitude and inflection as "Fez" from "That 70s Show", (Or Gene Wilder) saying "I SAY GOOD SAY SIR!". "Modri: I say good day. I SAY GOOD SAY AMIGO!"

Day 2 I was thinking "Man, pros are kinda boring at diplo and need to spend some more time with it." Day 3 could hardly have been any more opposite. Looking forward to RR5 already! The CA improvements were awesome. Would really love indicators for chat recipients though. I think there are ways to implement it that will take up little to no extra real estate. One idea is maybe the color of the chat bubble icon reflects the colors of the recipients (divided as necessary) rather than the sender, since the sender's name and message will be colored anyways.
