Can be really useful to use the playlist for drums instead of piano roll / patterns. It makes it easier to do adjustments to singular hits, change transitions and alter the way things occur without duplicating or automating patterns. But it's all about how you use it. I have made beats for several years and only use the playlist area for my drums.

Semi-Pro? Fl Studio is functionally just as good as Ableton and Protools. FL seems a little more goofy but there are lots of professionals using FL - especially if you know how to code (I unfortunately don't) you will have a lot of potential in FL Studio. Also Patcher is SO GREAT
