I NEVER drink Starbucks outside of the USA because the local options are always cheaper and better. In the USA, all coffee shops are as expensive as Starbucks and it's sort of inconsequential if you end up in one when there's no other option around.

Here in Germany in my generation Timati is quite well known because of the song "Welcome to St Tropez". It was like the number one song in the year of 2012. When I've been in Saint Petersburg I've often gone to the Starbucks in the Galeria, but just because it was convenient and I knew they would speak English so I didn't have to embarrass myself with my terrible attempts to speak Russian :) But.. as I got a bit more confident I would much rather go to one of the millions of Russian coffeeshops or kiosks on literally every street in the city. I don't know how versed you are in Russian music, but you should do a video about Black Star as a label and how it takes advantage of its artists to make hot garbage music and how artists are somewhat forced to sign to a terrible label in order to make it in the big scene. Yep, to me sweet coffe doesn't make sense. The flavors clash and the bitterness of the coffee and the huge amount of sugar don't blend well. If you want energy and sugar why not just buy an energy drink? And if you like the taste of the coffee (not sugar and syrup) then just buy your own coffee machine, grind your coffee beans and it's going to be better than what you get at Starbucks. One of those brands that has a low quality product but somehow is seen as cool and worth the price.

Starbucks flopped in Sweden, there’s only 4 left now. Next after Finland, Sweden drinks the most coffee per capita in the world. So I can say, we’re pretty picky off our coffee. I haven’t eaten at McDonald or Donken as it’s called here, for almost 3 years. There’s way better an more healthy burgers places, of course they’re more expensive but hey, your body is your temple! 😉 A rapper that praises the government is a skill, no matter where or when. A real rapper speaks for the underdogs, he or she are their voice, the voice of the street. It’s like a punk band would praise the government, it’s so wrong and fake. Anyways, great video Roman! Well I have had like 3 coffees from Starbucks in my entire life - and that was along a motorway where there no other option. The cost was totally over the top. BTW Russia has a long history of bootlegging esp' in the aviation industry - I remember 'Concordski' the supersonic airliner that was only fit to carry parcels between Moscow & Alma Ata. The TU104, TU154, TU134, IL62 allcoopies of western airliners.

I’m French, never have been to a Starbucks so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about, but to me it seems they’re trying to make coffee palatable to people who don’t like coffee but still want to pretend they drink coffee for some reason. For me a good coffee is concentrated blackness and bitterness in a tiny cup, makes your heart race and slaps you awake. If you don’t like it or it’s not the right time for it, we have other options, some tea or infusion, hot chocolate or milk. If it’s mostly cream and pumpkin spice or whatever, then it’s not coffee, just a way too rich hot beverage with a dash of coffee.

It's funny how the things that I will occasionally get from Starbucks when I stop by are everything but the coffee lol And I am a huge coffee lover, practically addicted, but to good coffee, not to the incredibly over-priced ashtray tasting crap they sell in SB. If you go to a Starbucks in Portugal you will mostly find foreigners. Portuguese people are usually not stupid enough to pay almost 3 euros for a lousy espresso that tastes like gun powder, when they can get a proper one for 70 cents in any Portuguese café. Portugal, Italy and the Netherlands have the best coffee in Europe. These are countries where Starbucks just cannot take over the market. We know good coffee, so couldn't fall for the con even if we wanted. Their cakes are also crap. The salads and wraps are bland af. I'll tell you what tho, the egg sandwich is superb, and that, together with the coconut water and the Japanese iced tea, are really the only things that I will very much occasionally have there. But then again I can make a really great egg sandwich at home too. Russia is not missing on anything not having Starbucks.

I'm kinda disappointed the Russian business people haven't been a little more creative. I understand the businesses are turnkey and have staff that are trained to certain food and drinks but slapping a very similar logo on a starbuck leftover is lame. There are so many vibrant colours from Russian traditional decor they could make it look really nice with a design from home. Maybe in time they'll move more away from that old branding.

Even if Russia won Ukraine, even if "winning" was an option, this all looks sad. I gotta wonder even after the war how long sanctions will continue, not even an occupation of Ukraine but post war people will still not want to do business anywhere near Moscow and Europe is working to not need gas and oil from Russia. Now you're seeing a jewish "black" rapper open his pro-putin starbucks, I'm not going to comment on his bad music but this would be all kinds of gross even if an actual black man did this in the US: Copy a European brand but remake it to be american, use it to promote Trump or whatever, and not expect the entire world to just laugh at all Americans. Random question, where do Russians get their coffee? What's your nearest most convenient Columbia equivalent? And do they care about the current Ukraine situation?
