I mean I know badminton players can get pretty decent serves on day 1. Not this level but they can get passable serves in one day and give them like a week they can get good serves. Badminton players are really good at overhead motions and a lot of the kinetic chain for serves is similar to overhead shots in badminton.

When I was a freshmen in HS I was in gym class and the coach was teaching us the basics of tennis. I had never played before in my life. I am a very natural athlete and when I started hitting the ball against the backstop I noticed the coach, who happened to be the varsity tennis coach, was watching closely. He then walked over and asked how long I’d been playing. I told him 3 min. He convinced me to try out for the freshmen team. I made it. I Quickly picked up the game. Became conference champ at doubles freshmen year. By senior year I was training with Andrea Yeager. But only because my serve was 120+ mph and her coach asked my coach if I would serve to her. I remember him telling her if she could return my serve she could return most pro women’s serves. Not only did she return my serve almost every time but it was like hitting against a backstop when we volleyed. She rarely made a mistake and forced me probably 95% of the time. Soon after she was in the finals at Wimbledon! True story.

Awesome video, so entertaining. You mishit those balls at the start really well (good actor!), just like a beginner, and I could see the coach thinking "damn, these balls are 2 euros each" when you hit them over the fence. His reaction when you hit pro shots was perfect.

That was GREAT! The coach was really good. You could hear some of the burnout in him. It's hard when you were a world class player and you dedicate your life to a sport and then things happen. It can be difficult to accept that it didn't work out like you want, but then you go on to help others and that is the gift. To me this video was more than a prank. It was revealing of a few things. Loved the fact that the coach was transparent and gave his girlfriend so much credit. This "prank" probably motivated him in more ways than we will ever know.

Would love to see tennis teaching videos where you teach one stroke at a time and teach how pros actually do it. Show us how you actually do it and then show the slow motion of it. Then you can make videos of pros showing the different variations out there and explain the pros and cons of the different variations. You can make videos on how to attack low balls, high balls, short balls, deep balls, slices. You can make videos on how to be consistent with the different balls so you aren't attacking but not patty caking either. Also a video on flattening out the balls and when to use it. A video on running side to side to hit the balls. Etc.
