@@venturesflyco I just get confused sometimes cause I don’t have a tapered leader I just use tippet I can get out pretty far but would I be able to get out further if I got tapered leader ?

Where are you? I know in some places like the UK, they call mosquitos "biting midges" but what we call (great) lake midges don't even have mourhparts. Harmless besides the fact that they fill the fish up so they don't bite.
