Pro Tips for Your First Reforge in Dauntless!

With over 3,000 hours in Dauntless experience, there's only a few things I haven't done to this point. One of those being doing a reforge on a fresh, brand new account. Today I show you what I did for my first reforge on a new account, and give you some tips on how to make that first reforge faster.

@@ya_boi_sieem6644 only if you are really getting it faster. If you're spending over 2,5 minutes in a fight it is probably taking you too long.

You forgot to make sure to leave your reforge at level 69 to get the special buff

Just right after I made my first reforge! That helps a loot:) But I don't expect myself to be that fast since my laptop runs the game like power point presentation in some situations. It makes it hard to dodge and attack in right moment.

another tip for some of us who are less fortunate in the brain cell department is make sure the build you are looking at is one you think you will like i did not do this and power surged a hammer just to look at it later and be like "hmm i dont like how this plays or some of these skills" and then i had to go out to get more shit to supercharge a different hammer for a different build that i thought looked like more fun

I mean that’s just stuff you have to learn by playing.. usually by lvl 20 you understand at least the basics of dodging and interruptions.

Seth, out of this video, the only thing I would change is to not visit the Blazeworks if you are not great at dodging and interrupting. But, those skills will come with play time and analyzing the behemoths tells for their attacks. A good lesson I taught myself was to just go into a fight with a particular behemoth you want to learn and put your weapon away. Then, just watch it and practice on dodging through their attacks. If you have reached the reforge node, you more than likely already sorta know how to dodge most behemoths. For interrupts, sorta the same. Buuuut, if you really wanna make sure you know how to interrupt, I believe that TheMrTrails has some interruption guide videos! :D

I just do 1-13 escalations then I bully nayaga, riftstalkers. and hellion until level 14 which I then do 10-50 escalations (10-50 are pretty easy)

I saw that you were using some mixed gear. I'm a new player and am struggling with a clear path of what armor to focus on. The neutral is great but limited to low lvls. The higher lvl stuff is element specific. Any advice? I've surged like 6 weapons and 5 pieces of armor bc I didn't know what I was actually doing and the long-term effect =(

sounds like you may have more exp than me by this point, since i started a month ago, and now im at 7 aetherhearts in, but im finding that element is the least of your concern on armor, and that the cell slots and baked in perks

Beyond 10 times per weapon, the only reason is aetherhearts. And flexing

Heavy Light Heavy. Must have 3 valour to use. Not recommended until you get really good with behemoth stagger timings (it needs to hit at least 4 times to be effective)

As a new player and as I fount out about the reforge I was thinking to get one good weapon for each element and e armor sets. Maybe that's a waste of time? If I do the reforge do I loose any resources and aether sparks or just weapon lvl?

100 aether sparks are converted to 1 aether heart upon reforging, which allows you to upgrade your weapons and armor to their max effectiveness. Just a change in resources basically, not really a loss incurred. The good weapon for each element is ideal, however when it comes to armor, element isn't a concern whatsoever. The armor only even protects against certain attacks from those behemoths, and not all of them. The most important thing from the armor pieces is to provide you with good perks (right side of loadout screen). Considering the content of the video im assuming you're asking about sword's bladerush attack? Once you have 3 Valor built up you can hold the light attack to do the rushing swipe (good for closing the distance and also activating recursive hilt if you hit a behemoth with bladerush; makes bladerush essentially pay for it self) otherwise I'd assume you were talking about the Malkarion legendary ability (has a different activation based on how you play Dauntless and your control bindings) which can teleport you to a behemoth up to around 150 meters away from you (so long as you are on a similar vertical plane to the target, too far above/below and the ability fails but doesn't trigger its cooldown)

@@monkeyjohn6990 theres a good chance your missing part of the quest. Double check the requirements, maybe it required u to kill a behemoth 10 times not just once. Maybe it told u to kill a special variation of the behemoth. for example it may have told u to kill rockfall skarn, not skarn

@@monkeyjohn6990 for ur "a strange and interesting behemoth" u have to kill agarus (the final terra escalation boss) with a terra weapon while taking less than 1000 damage and deal at least 20% of damage against him. Then u have to hand in 20 of his sporecap and get 500 hunt pass XP. Make sure u dont take 1000 damage (basically dont die) and do at least 20% of his HP

@@monkeyjohn6990 ur "main attraction" says to kill agarus with a terra weapon in under 15 minutes. Then hand in 2 iron root shard (his epic drop), 5 toxic branches (im guessing thats 5 of the skinny arm), 20 sporecap and 500 hunt pass XP. Check the amount of materials u currently have

Something I do not understand.. It says to scrap Cells if you have 8 +1 strength... you will never get to a +6 with only that amount... 2 +3 will give you a +4.. to get to a +6 you need 32 of each... What am I not getting here ???
