I live in Florida and keep mine outside. He didnt eat the first couple of days but I figured it was just a different environment for him. He didnt care for meal worms but perked right up when I got him crickets. He seems to look right at me. And yes, he stays in his half log and comes to the front when he is hungry or its night time. Idk of it is a he, but I named him Reginald and call him Reggie, that way of he does turn out to be a she, her name will be Regina, lol. Thanks so much for all the wonderful tips. I have wild cuban tree frogs living in my mailbox that come out every night for food, and there is one that will go over by Reg and see what he's doing but he is totally safe from harm. I'm sire they wonder what in the world he is with his bright colors! I didnt really want a kept frog, but in 24 hts I was in love. He is very sweet, with his beadie red eyes!

id use coconut fiber as a substrate just to be safe because sphagnum is on the more acidic side of things and can harm your pacman.

They recommend coconut fiber for adults, but sphagnum peat for babies because you can pack it really well.

Great info! I happened to put my baby Pac-Man in a 10 gallon tank a few days after I got him and he’s been eating well for me ever since. I always do the tong feeding method just because I don’t want him to get a ton of soil in his mouth. I usually rinse off his pinkie, or worm dip it in calcium powder than set it on a small plate near his mouth and kinda maneuver it around with the tongs just to eliminate substrate getting on his food

Your videos might be a bit older, but man I tell ya, they are beyond helpful. The Facebook groups everyone likes point out what you doing wrong, but no options on how to troubleshoot even a basic set up. I do currently have my baby pac in a 10gallon. Its my only open tank. I however had made the choice to always remove my frog and feed in a different tank. This way I can be in their enclosures with out them thinking food! I also where examination gloves while handling my frog. Wet I went very well before touching it too. I say it cuz I don't if it's a girl or boy. I know it's a very common color. He is a classic green. I can see it's hip bones and the sides of belly are bit sunken. It looks under weight. I do not understand why more ppl would not take your advice seeing how you such a education in on how to feed and keep them happy and healthy.

Yeah my Pac-Man lives in Taiwan so our temperature is pretty hot all the time. I'm an American and the way they care for Pac-Man frogs in Taiwan are different. Not so much the food but just the environment

In case this helps anyone feeding their new pacman, okay so obviously after giving them space and correct temperature and hide spots I did the following: *I got my Pacman frog to finally eat when I drop a medium-sized Nightcrawler into the tank right next to him* he doesn't like to be tong-fed, he prefers to be fed when I just drop it close to him, he likes to ambush the food. He likes to eat at night in darkness or dim light.

Can you give me your thoughts on handling the frogs? How do you transfer the babies to their bath?

You have a few ways of going about this, first wet your hand first and try to keep a dirt layer between your hand and the frog, DO NOT use soap, just water, you will hurt the frog if you handle without wetting your hand because of oils on our skin. You can also use a none toxic glove, many gloves you buy in stores will be toxic to frogs because they have powders and other things to keep the gloves sanitary for human use. Or you can use the method that I use which is a scoop cup. It's a little cup almost like the cup you buy them in, has a little bit of dirt in the bottom you scoop the frog up then turn the cup on its side in the bath and let the frog climb out when hes ready, you will want to get your frog used to having baths before just throwing them in there, also what this video did not mention is these frogs are awful and I mean awful swimmers, do not put them in water that is higher than their chin they will drown. Also what this guy mentions about the temp of the water is bang on make sure you're keeping the water temp at anywhere from 75-80 to cold you'll send the frog into shock, and too hot and you'll burn the frog. Easiest way to monitor it is using a heat gun. I hope this helped you.

I wish I saw this video before my pacman stopped eating. He/She looks like skeleton frog, it stopped eating for a long time. I listened to other youtubers advise that pacmans don't need to soak, nor uvb light bulbs. After I added uvb last night, my frogs body started to puff up. The skin still stucks on the body, I am going to soak him. His eyes and horns look shrinked, hard to see them. My mistake, hope he get better after I reset his tank. Hi, I have a 4 inch male frog - wt is 32 grams. He is in a set up with a heat mat plus a heat lamp at one side - its 28C under the lamp and 25C elsewhere, cooler at the front. lamp is only on for about 4 hrs to heat it up post night. then he has. further 8 hrs of normal light. We have had him about 2 months. We tong feed him. but he has not eaten for about 4 weeks. He moves around, croaks at night, seems OK, he is misted 2 x daily. Any ideas??? we are going to try and bathe him but he has spent all day in his water today anyway?

Pick the frog up from behind so it doesn’t bite you! If it sees your fingers in front of its face, it may mistake your finger for food so just pick it up from behind! But you don’t want to handle them a lot. Once in a while is ok tho.
