I have a macbook pro M1 monterey 12.4, it didn't allow the extension to run at the end of the process, so after disabling the SIP protections it gave me the msg that the extension wasn't up to date and it had to be updated by the developer. I really wish I could make this work on my new mac but it seems that its not happening

Man this was incredible. the security pop up never happened for me. I had to go to the security settings, and go to "Details" where it listed AVID technologies as needing permission or similar. once I checked it, it then prompted me to restart. And then I was golden. Thank you so so much for saving my first interface! Now I can continue using it.

I added the original 002/003 Manuals to the description towards the bottom. I consider these units the best at-home Control Surfaces for Pro Tools considering the price. Put the mouse down and have some fun tweeking your plugins/session with your hands. Enjoy using the motorized faders. It definitely makes a recording/production session a-lot more exciting. Man after working with a digi O02 for 6 years I wouldn't work with pro tools without it I hate having to use the mouse to click click click it makes it so much easier I don't know why they even got rid of these units do you need is the control surface and the mouse I would never get rid of my oo2 but I'm having problems with my faders right now if anyone can help downloaded I downloaded the software patch and I can't get the faders to work or my mic input to show up

It'd Be Awesome to keep using my 003 on my new m4, but that's Apple Silicon vs. Intel, & Firewire vs. Thunderbolt.. a LOT to overcome. Hey thanks for putting up this gold info. Worked well for me the first few times using logic/PT but now 003R and 002R don't get recognised in sound pref.The only thing that changed is I used a MOTU interface (firewire) a couple of times. Now I've lost the digi functionality. I tried all the steps again but still no show. Any ideas?

You can use the 003 as a standalone preamp to add extra channels to another interface like an Apollo using the adat output. I just found that out I had a session I needed to record last minute.

Hey Man , THNX again 4ur awesome info ! 2 quick issues Im havin now that my 002 console is installed & working sweet on Monterey w PT 2022... 1. When quitting, the 002 shuts off (faders zero) but PT stays up (spinning wheel cursor) until i power off the 002,. Only then will PT quit. Unless I force quit. Do uno wassup w that ? 2. Also... foot punch pedal plugged into back of 002 WONT punch record (even when in quick punch mode) it only seems to stop/start !?

Looks like that's a bug that won't go away on unsupported versions of macOS. I just power off the 002 after quitting Pro Tools as well. A minor inconvenience, but not a deal breaker imo.

It works on any macOS, but the processor has to be Intel. Unfortunately, M1 and M2 Macs don't work with this fix.

Pro Tools Artist works on Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma. It also works on Intel Mac computers as well. I'm running the Pro Tools 2024 on a 2018 Intel Mac with macOS Ventura at the moment.

hi Jace, thank you for making this video. I have a macpro from 2010 with Monterey installed, I am trying to get my digi003 recognized by Monterey. I followed all the instructions and at the end of the process nothing is appeared in the security and privacy settings. but my digi003 was recognized and appeared in the audio settings. I tested it with protools, everything worked. I then restarted the computer and it was no longer recognized again, as if the operation had not been saved. Do you have an idea to resolve this problem?

I'm running FR Clarett + 8pre and I want to use the Digi03 Rack for more inputs and outputs for analog hybrid mixing.. I am not finding videos or information claiming that this is possible to do.. I got a signal when I use the Digi03 as the master but no sound and no I/O from my audio interface and visa versa if my Clarett is the master. However there is something I don't know how to solve: When I close Protools it hangs and doesn't close until I turn off digi 003. Sonoma will be hit and miss depending on the mac model. Monterey is the newest OS you can use with the most stability. I'm currently on Ventura with no issues.

I was planning to replace my internal ssd anyway so I started with a clean install of Monterey and followed the steps again and the Mac will use the 002 but Pro Tools won’t. One thing was missing, with Monterey 12.6.8 and Pro Tools 2023.3 there is no Digidesign folder in the library so nowhere to drag the DWS file. Not sure if it’s related but Pro Tools doesn’t have the .pio file for the 002 so it can’t map out the i/o and I can’t seem to add the paths manually.

Awesome tutorial! Awesome! I've had hacks for every year until my big Sur... and then this came along! I had bought a Focusrite 18i20 and the thing was under warranty and they've had it for over TWO MONTHS now and i'm making a CD anthology for a major... granted, I'm working in a more austere studio than most, but there's no excuse for... SH** OVER TWO MONTHS, closer to THREE now... that's insane. I'm just gonna get a refund... I can't see any reason to give them money for their shoddy products, when I have one from FIFTEEN years ago that is kicking their BUTT... the only thing they had going for them is the PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE... and I friggin hate them for that. Been running a 2013 iMac on Mojave with a Digi 002R with Black Lion Audio Signature mod for a while. After resisting for a while, I updated to ProTools 2024 and lost ability to open ProTools at all. After finding this video, I decided to update the OS to Catalina, which is the last OS that will work on the 2013 iMac. I'm a bit confused about how to implement the instructions on this video since I already have the drivers on my computer. Do I need to reinstall them? How do I reinstall them from already being installed?

I have not tested on Ventura yet. As long as your mac as an Intel Processor, you should be good. M1 and M2 don't work with these steps.

You can use it with any DAW for passing audio (Playback Engine), but control surface features only work with Pro Tools and stand-alone mode.

Hi I watched your video and I think its great that it worked for you . I did try it on my Mac Mini M1 Monterey and it didn't work as i thought it might not. So did you already own that pro tools version. Because if I download it I would have to authorize it and Avid don't let you authorize old softwares. I need to upgrade my software and I desperately want to keep using 002 rack. I have the M1 but i could buy a used computer that comes with the mojave and install it that way but there is still the dilemma of authorizing it. Thanks for any input.

Thanks for the comment, glad you like the video. I put Intel Monterey in on the thumbnail because the M1 (apple processors) seem to be the only issue users are having. I have yet to hear back from a M1 user that it works. Avid does let you authorize Pro Tools on older macOS software if you own a license. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question. @@OmniProAudio Hi I got a bit confused. I now realize that the Family is just a driver . So here is deal I have been trying to upgrade to PT 2205. I currently run PT 8.05. So I had downloaded the software to my Mac Mini M1, but had no interface to run it on. I was looking at several different ones, and i just happened into your video and saw where you said I could use the 002 with the Family driver. I was excited and I did everything you said but it didn't work as I thought it might not since my computer was so new. Anyway It is all cleared up now. I have another older mac mini 2010 running High Sierra. So I downloaded the Pro Tools 2022.05 and then downloaded the Family driver and I was shocked when I saw a window came showing the 002 hardware. I had to configure it in mac Audio Midi Set Up with the Pro Tools Aggregate I/O's of 18 in 18 out. It took me quite some time to figure out everything: like making sure the monitors, the mic lines the headphones the midi keyboard etc work, and they are all working.😊 My only problem is that my computer run extremely slow and the software boot up extremely slow. So I bought a used computer from Mac of all Trades that was recommended by Avid website 2012, 6,2 i7 and I also bought another 8 rams of memory with it. It comes with Mojave and can be upgrade to Catalina. So i will see if I can still run the Avid Pro Tools 2022.5 with the family on it. In the long run I don't mind spending for a new used computer if it will save me from have to spend $4.000. 00 for the Avid Carbon interface or buying a new interface period. I will be buying one of the UAD Apollo just for my vocals but I have to see how well the Mac Mini 2012 Mojave set up work first. I will keep you posted. Thanks so much for sharing G
