I wonder if it would've been reasonable for Adrian to play the drown in sorrow against the empty board game 2 just to get a scry in to find something against the dashing Zurgo.

Actually can Sullivan main phase Drown in Sorrow to scry a removal for Zurgo?
@raulgv66423 жыл бұрын
why at 2:33 Martin attacks with zurdo and monastery (3 power points) and they deduct only 2 lives to Brian??

Dismal Backwater (the first land Adrian plays) gives you 1 life. Adrian was at 21 when he took 3.

Adrian, I was cheering for you all the way through this PT buddy, but it's got to be said, the only thing worse than playing interpret the signs in a competitive deck, is keeping it in postboard against red aggro. What the f**k were you thinking?!

Sometime I wish the commentators weren't talking so I can just listen to the players

i know you can play the lands almost the way you want it, but this is just ridiculous
@Lightmane9 жыл бұрын
Andres Hermosilla It's possible that the reason he plays his lands like that is because he has spent a lot of time teaching beginners how to play & he would play his lands that way, as well as his permanents, so the new players could read them & he just got used to playing that way. I believe that's why he does it & if that's true then I think it's really cool. Besides that, he's a very nice person, which is even more important.

He has always played 'upside down' for the last two decades. Trying to change it now would probably actually mess up his playing...

I hate Martin Dang's mannerisms. You can't even hear the players but I could tell that he was fast-tracking at every possible moment, requiring Adrian to pause and rewind a bunch of times. I've been the player on that end, it's not fun, it's technically not maintaining a proper game state, and it's a little tilting to have to watch your opponent's every move like a hawk to make sure they give you the adequate time to respond.
@33bigmoney9 жыл бұрын
i would play drown in sorrow even if there was no creatures in play to get a scry for an instant to kill the dashing zurgo

Should Adrian have just cast the useless Drown in Sorrow for no targets at the end just to draw into something he could use against the known Zurgo?
@alanyuan85659 жыл бұрын
+chawan92 The problem is that his other 2 cards are land. By that time, it was already game over.

Thomas Wayne These games went incredibly bad for the U/B players in this Top 8, not to mention, 2 of them did not carry a sideboard with enough cards dedicated to their worst matchup (this deck). With the proper sideboard, U/B can reasonably beat this deck at least 60% of the time after Game 1, which I agree is all but almost an auto scoop.

Thomas Wayne yeah, this meta doesnt do shit to promote control decks...
