I wish Marshall & Ian were commentating this. They seem more up-to-date with the current meta.

That second match had a couple of misplays, like the dig-scorn-> downfall satyr play which would have prevented 4 dmg. He also did not need to attack with both the last turn :S

Edgar Wang Yep, and plays like that lose games

Edgar Wang Downfall on Satyr instead of Surrak was better. However, I believe after resolving Dig, he didn't want to Scorn anyways, because he found a Dragonlord Silumgar. Stealing a Surrak instead of a Satyr would also have won the game because he would have killed his opponent a turn too quickly.

Edgar Wang More than that - he would have taken Surrak with the Dragonlord and could have swung with it that turn. It would have been the game.

If you thoughtsize, is it allowed to write down the cards that your opponent then shows?

25:26 Andrew would have won the second game if he targeted Boon Satyr instead of Surrak, the Hunt Caller with Hero's Downfall but of course he didn't know he would find Dragonlord Silumgar with Dig Through Time.

bad play 27:01 he kills the surraak instead of the satyr 4 damage he took not even having too.
@eyeforaneye87859 жыл бұрын
that's not necessarily a mistake since surrak would have given haste to any other creature he was going to cast. just a questionable choice

Andy Huynh I think my favorite play would be downfall then dig in response to surrak, you neuter surraks effectiveness, and leave youself enough mana to cast scorn if you're still inclined after digging
@tgva88899 жыл бұрын
Andy Huynh This play is bad because Andrew doesn't have enough mana to cast Dig and Scorn and also stop the Satyr hit. The best play probably would have been to just axe the Satyr in response and then play Dig to either find a removal spell or a Dragon to be able to Scorn the Surrak. Or, as he ended up, finding a Dragonlord Silumgar to just steal it. Chances are in 7 cards he's either going to find an Ultimate Price, a Downfall, or a Dragon that will be effective in that situation. Taking 4 was a bit risky, I think, especially since he knows his opponent has Nissas in his deck.

what a blow out. why would you swing with silumgar leaving a window open for nissa when you know he doesn't even run removal. bandwagon control player... boo!
