When they talk about shuffling and how players like to do that! I relate so much. I just sit and shuffle when I watch these tournaments and even when I'm bored sometimes

I'm just saying that there a times when I'd prefer an Omen Speaker. In a control deck I'd most likely always prefer the Augur (during deck construction), but you're right that lands matter as well.

The Dagen /Black semifinal was an awesome match... better in mind than the final. So close!

It made me cry to see Sam Black lose. He is by far the best player there currently is. He is responsible for so many original decks. This is just devastating.

Kudos to BDM for A) knowing what Pavlovian means and B) using it in a Magic-related sentence.

I enjoy the discussion about Omen Speaker vs Augur of Bolas. I agree that Augur of Bolas is clearly better, given he looks deeper and lets you draw the card, but Omen Speaker does have it's worth. Some times the decks that would play an Omen Speaker really wants a land or a Thassa/Master of Waves.

Because he could also make Frostburn unblockable and give it +2/-2. So I think he was merely hoping Dezani would mess up.

He is the 20th ranked player in the world. I think he is going to go up after his good result in this pro-tour

so you're saying omen speaker better for agro blue decks and augur better for control? because in control deck spell matter most however finding land doesnt make omen speaker that bad for control deck also

This game is just like poker, texas hold'em or domino. You play thinking about strategy and even win money. Besides, it has its history since 1993, so many TCG followed Magic since then. You'll understand once you grow up.

Do you even know what they can win at the end of a Pro Tour ? You would be really really serious too ! If you were playing MTG you would also know it isn't just a card game and it cannot be compared to yugioh

If you see the entire competition, only against Makihito Mihara, 3 or 4 players, standing up to talk about rules with the jud's and I think you can't do that in the middle of a round, becouse you supposedly to know the rules of the game and only call the jud's after you do the move and ask if is a valid move, poor Makihito, just for don't speak english :(

The same could be said about professional sports, yet because of social taboos and stereotypes, that is perfectly okay.

well... they are playing for $40,000. lots of people would look at certain activities and think it's pretty lame as well... baseball for example

Black could have one game 5 easily. On turn number 6 (blacks 3rd draw) he just got his raptor rifted, she should have swung with his tidebinder mage, he had no reason to leave it behind. If he would have done this, at then end, Dagen would have been at 7 life total instead of 9 and thasa would have been able to make the raptor (3/4) the nightveil specter (2/3) and one of the other 2 power creatures unblockable for the game.

That's because people want to win. There's nothing wrong with playing a game and trying to win it. Your logic is inherently flawed.
