I guess It is intended for those that CAN use the information to their afvantage. The trader would have had an option IF he knew that he was going to go Long when institutions were about to Short. Without that information he ended up with a low probability setup and avoidable loss.

I haven't watched the whole video yet, but by analyzing 1 trade you can't say much about a strategy surely. I've tested my system over 10 years and I know sometimes I get appalling set ups, but I also get amazing set ups, sometimes the bad set up works and sometimes the good set up works. I wouldn't want to adapt my system over analyzing 1 trade! It would be a huge amount of analyses of all of my live and backtested trades, followed by some out of sample testing to make sure I wasn't curve fitting

Maybe watch the video… we are simply explaining why the trade failed, vs whether the strategy has an edge. There is value in knowing why a trade failed, because that’s the foundation of a strategy in itself.

@@TradingNut I watched it and still looking at 1 trade doesn't tell you much, yes this one lost but next time even by adding the confluences of the WO & 200ema the same trade could win. I agree it's good too look at reasons why a trade failed, but maybe its's because I trade fully mechanically, but if I started adding extra confluences to my system, 1. I'd have to retest 10 years worth of data (manually) 2. Could it become over optimizing trying to remove all your losses? Maybe if I was a discretional trader it would be more helpful, just more confluences to help me find A+++ set ups

Fair point that apllies more to time a served strategy in my opinion. The clear advantage of knowing why trades lost can help with understanding probabilites and through knowledge build towards being able to identify a high probability setup over a lower probabilty setup. Avoiding trades that are low probabilty can help smooth out an equity curve and therefore reduce drawdown. There will be times that this method will filter out a low probabilty trade that will go onto to b a decent winner, but the end result should improve the stratgey . What you don't give to the market you don't have to get back. Capital prservation is the approach indtitutions use and this filterting is effective for that. The main focus being on what can go wrong as opposed to what will go right is very good risk management.

@@TradingNut Not sure if my reply was deleted or I didn't finish it properly. I finished watching the video, but I still don't think you can learn much from analyzing 1 trade, you'd need to look through multiple losses hundreds to see if any meaning full insight. Adding confluences mentioned in the video could be great for 1 or 2 trades but in the bigger picture you may then also avoid taking multiple trades which win therefore you've not made the system better at all!

@@robertBH82 I think you may not have finished it. There are two schools of thought at play here, back test a strategy correctly and trade the edge (as you have done), vs understanding what moves the market and trade what the market presents at the time. This video covers the later.
