For openings, I'd recommend the song "mizu no hoshi e ai wo komete" (eng: To The Aqueous Star With Love) by Hiroko Moriguchi, the second japanese opening for the show Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. It's an older show, and the opening reflects it, but it's a very good song in a style that doesn't get as much respect as it deserves.
