Bryson, when are you going to make a set of golf clubs??? Enough bespoke and make your own BAD edition with cobra 🐍 think of all of us one length SPS’s out here looking for the best one length gear.. Cobra is still the best in the market for one lengths, although good job with stock pings, but they need your input.. we fans/amateurs want to play what you play

@@BigDawgCAMyeah 130 mph ch speed, you should be carrying 310+. Even when I really get a hold of one at about 114 mph it gets 275-280 carry. (My usual swing speed is only about 102-103 on the course, with about a 250-255 carry)
@BigDawgCAM
@BigDawgCAM Жыл бұрын
@@Eastmaniac @ssSHANEOoo *180's ball speed - I should have been more specific. A controlled/aggressive swing is around 125 mph clean head speed, 185 ball speed, and 325 yd carry. Seeing as I'm taller than Bryson at 6'3" and 28 years old, at the tier just below his swing speed I can promise everyone that the machine is miscalculating carry distances. What happens at high swing speeds is the ball tends to slip off the club face and spin like crazy. If I'm not careful with technique and ball selection, I can easily spin a 7 iron (34 deg) @ 100 mph club head speed well over 8,000 rpm that just sky rockets into the air. Their machine isn't accounting for the spin being detrimental and is instead just converting it into extra distance, which only happens with a tail wind in real life. So everyone knows what's actually attainable, my carry yardages are right at right at 15 yd gaping with 4 deg separation: 58 (L) - 100 yd 54 (S) - 115 yd 50 (G) - 130 yd 46 (P) - 145 yd 42 (9i) - 160 yd 38 (8i) - 175 yd 34 (7i) - 190 yd 30 (6i) - 205 yd 26 (5i) - 220 yd 22 (4i) - 235 yd 18 (5W) - 250 to 260 yd 14 (3W) - 265 to 275 yd 7.25 (D) - 300 to 325 yd

@@markcook9084Don’t forget, his short irons are all the length of a 7 iron and the lofts are at least 2 degrees strong also. Together with his elevated swing speed, his irons are going to go enormous distances, it’s no great mystery! That 5 wood has 13 degrees of loft, which is 2 degrees less than the loft of a standard 3 wood. So it’s basically a 3 wood with a 5 on it, and his 3 wood is basically a driver with a 3 on it. @@nomorenonsense yeah I get that, but my point is the ball speeds seem very high. Bryson's 9i at 152 ball speed and 1,46 smash, Garret's 7 iron at 142 with a 1.46 smash... Tour average for a 7 iron is 1.33 smash, john rahm's 7 iron is like mid 130s ball speed with a higher swing speed.

Loft vs loft isnt as far off as it may seem. Bryson basically a club ahead starting at gap.
@mattbrown6392

I agree loft is loft, but the best players in the world like him have to take into account how the flight/spin/ and reaction when it lands. Brysons PW will fly as high, spin, and react on a green just like a PW that’s a higher loft for someone like Cantlay. Bryson trains to hit the ball farther with the drivers and woods to get advantages, the other clubs he’s having to “re-loft” so they can fly, spin, and react on greens like standard golf clubs are supposed to. He swings that fast. For context, if all of your clubs were just renamed 1 less club “says 9i but is a actual PW” and you went to get fitted, the fitter would say “your 9-iron has way too much spin and you’re flying it way too high, then you’d counteract that with de-lofting the clubs, or putting a shaft in that is heavy enough to slow down the speed. In Brysons case he is an order of magnitude of about 1 club faster than the golf shafts that the speeds only made for pro players use. So they can’t help him get the spin and height correct with standard shafts (that’s my opinion) so he uses heavy graphite shafts and de lofts the clubs so he can hit and hold greens correctly. Not to mention he has a top 5 in the world short game. My point is don’t just think, oh I’d hit shots exactly like Bryson if I used his clubs… lol
@4estahrens
@4estahrens Жыл бұрын
@@mattbrown6392 bryson isn't that much faster than most tour pros who play regular lofted irons. His science bag is because he does hit it hard but also because his wedges are the length of a 7 iron. His one length crap seems to create way more of a headache to just hit a regular shot that a regular length and lofted club does already even at his speed. Bryson just needs to call the clubs what they are and not say my nine is your 8 junk
@mattbrown6392
@mattbrown6392 Жыл бұрын
@@4estahrens that’s one way to look at it I guess. He’s technically quite a bit faster than other tour players when it comes to distance off the tee… so that should translate a good bit to other clubs for gapping distances. Also the technique he uses with the 1 length clubs which you refer to as a “junk” excuse has won the guy 10s of millions literally by playing golf with that technique. There’s more than 1 way to win for sure. But if you hate it so much, you should go compete and beat him, then tell him why it’s junk.
@4estahrens

@@mattbrown6392 my only point is he is comparing yardages to Garrett is not apples to apples. Especially as it was mainly as a look at how awesome I am compared to this regular human when in all reality if they both hit Garrett's clubs it wouldn't be so drastically different. Can also think his one length stuff is junk and unnecessary and know he's an all time pro golfer.

@@4estahrens that’s the video they should have done lol. Both hit the same clubs and see what happens lol. Or both try to hit the other guys’ clubs too. That would clear up a few things. Hey your opinion is what it is. I won’t tell you one way or another. It would be dumb of him to go out of his way to use a style that wouldn’t help when golfers need to win to be relevant, but crazier things do happen with athletes.

Honestly, the numbers are pretty close if you take loft into account. Bryson's 5 wood has about the same loft as Garrett's 3 wood and the carry is...5 yards different. Bryson's 4/5 iron has probably a pretty similar loft (17°) to Garrett's 3 iron and the difference is...6 yards, with Garret actually being further. The video is more of how far do Bryson and Garrett hit the club they call their __ iron/wood. Interesting none the less!

@Luke-uw6dp I'm not saying Bryson wouldn't hit it further cause he obviously would, garret's driver ball speed is in the 190s Bryson in the 210 maybe more, but you can't argue that Garrett would hit bryson's short irons longer than his own, I mean between the jacked lofts and the shaft length it just makes sense, you said he hit his 9i 211,he did but his 9 has a 6i shaft ,

Bryson's clubs are numbered according to spin rate. So he's hitting traditional 3i distance but with 5i spin rates with his 5i. That's a huge advantage into the green. Swing speed, brother.

I'm honestly just surprised the differences are not larger, given a 25+mph differential in driver ball speed. Btw Bryson's 6 iron has 21° of loft which is much closer to Garrett's 4 iron. When you look at those numbers the difference is...7 yards

all i know is my driver struggles to carry 280, my 4 iron struggles to carry 210, and my pitching wedge struggles to carry 140. sand wedge is like 113, my favorite club. this is the first year i've golfed more than 3 rounds in 20 years. and i've been watching all these videos and hitting some buckets and i was shooting a 125-130 at the start of the season, i just shot my best of 104 last time i went out. all my clubs are getting straighter and for the first time in 20 years i played 9 holes and didn't lose a ball.

Seeing youtube guys hit it and call yardages is impressive. Watching the yardage for a hole being shown and then seeing a 2nd shot that is 200 (ex) to the hole, means a 480 yard hole with 200 yds to the hole = 280 drive not 360. It just doesn't add up sometimes. Watching Bryson carry 338 337 340 on the same holes all tournament isn't click bait.

You should show the loft for a better comparison I mean a 35° 9-iron would in most cases be a 7-iron And a 17° 5-iron is usually more like a 1 or 2 iron I use an MR3 True Blue Loft & Lie for bending and reference As long as the club does the work, it's fine, but if all your clubs are like 8~9° strong, maybe just use a reference that is closer in comparison, because this is already like 2 clubs more Shaft length also makes a difference, if all shafts are the same length higher lofted clubs will go further than expected In my case: 60° 109 56° 120 50,5° 131 46,5° 142 43° 153 38° 164 33,5° 175 31° 186 27° 197 23° 208 21° 219 4W 16° 263 D 8,5° 306

I really hope people aren't comparing these numbers to their own. I swing a driver at almost 130 mph/180 ball speed and I can 100% guarantee these numbers are inflated. Bryson was joking about it during the video, but that's why you only trust launch monitors like GC Quad that sit right next to the ball to provide you wiht accurate information.
