Solid review! Thanks for putting this one out.

These would be good for a ski resort in the summer to make rides down the mountain. Other than that, pretty useless.

Thnx for the honest review. What if you modify the track to make it smooth. If that is possible.

I thought about that. I was considering using aluminum duct tape, which I love, to bridge the gap. Have not tried it, but something like that might help. This is a link, I think it is the right stuff ( www.lowes.com/pd/3M-3M-8482-Professional-Grade-Flexible-HVAC-Sealing-Tape-1-88in-x-30yds/5001605999 ). Don't get me wrong, it is usable, I just don't think for $700 that it is worth the money. They have other track, but it is more expensive. But I would avoid Proaim track, because if one is bad then how can we expect the other to be good? I was really disappointed. But I will probably use it as speed rail to make a large scrim since it is standard 1.25 schedule 40 pipe. Just need the corners and I am good to go. A bit more expensive than plain aluminum pipe, but not a total loss.

Whats a good track that affordable for indie work

I actually like the cheap GideGear track with a dolly and skate wheels. Do not get the Glide Gear wheels, but having a tripod that you can push at any height level over light weight tracks is great. The track is light and will not bump like the heavier track with bigger gaps. However, that is for one person at one level, unless you add a jib to the tripod. If you need a camera man on a dolly, we still have not found a good budget option. We were hoping the proaim track would be that solution. Proaim contacted me after they saw video and they are working on improving the tracks. When they do, it should be much better.

I guess that's why I paid 250 bucks today at a locksmith to get 6 tube ends precision machined 😄
@mrdogpoopstudios6 ай бұрын
Did you use your own tubes? Or Proaim? Did the machining do what you wanted?
@HighlyAkicktive6 ай бұрын
@@mrdogpoopstudios yes, I used my own tubes. The plan was to use star threaded tube inserts but now having tried to put them in: a) it's hard to get them in really straight and to align the tubes and b) it'll wear the tube ends off a little every time you twist the tubes against another. Speaking of wasting money 🤑
@mrdogpoopstudios6 ай бұрын
@@HighlyAkicktive That is why we buy sometimes instead of building. Some of our $200 builds are more like $2000 with all the mistakes we made and then made changes to get down to $200.

@@mrdogpoopstudios yeah I know, sometimes you gotta learn the hard way. I can probably still make use of it and put an insert into one end and use bolts to hold it in place. Just need to find a way so that the female tube won't budge when getting tightened
