Just to share some knowledge, just fearing demons doesn’t mean you have the phobia. It’s pretty normal. The actual phobia is when you always stay afraid that a demon might show up any moment while staying alone, you even get afraid when someone bring the word 'demon', and if you see one in movies, you are gonna be extremely scared. That's how real phobia works.

I think actual phobias are much more common than shown here. Most people have some pretty common fears: death, heights (especially extreme heights with no guardrails), spiders, snakes, mice, rats, parachuting, rock climbing, diseases, doctors, dentists, surgeries, high-energy amusement rides, falling, storms, lightning, thunder, being stranded, getting lost, and on and on. I had a very terrifying experience one time where my brother locked me into the pantry and I couldn't find the lightswitch. I kept clawing at where it was but there was nothing. I couldn't find the doorknob either and my fear of the dark was so intense at the moment that I began to hallucinate demons attacking me... I think I was 9 or 10 at the time? I ended up huddled onto the floor in the fetal position when my brother opened the door, once the light came into the room, everything was fine. It was like I went into another dimension or something. This is the basis of the fear of the dark. 99% of the time, nothing is in there with you... But your mind convinces you that there is. Or maybe I actually had a demonic encounter. I did have weird nightmares after that and scratches that would appear on my body out of nowhere.
