Still pretty heavy though. I don't think you'll ever get a lightweight bed system. But if you buy a separate bed and sleeping bag you can get lighter.

Thats what I've always done just but separately dont understand why people buy sleep systems or whatever their called

@@andrewtate8303 I find them a bit restrictive as well being attached to the bed. Feel a bit trapped!

@@andrewtate8303 I have got a bed system for doing long sessions, 4/5 nights.. it's weighs 15.6kg! I hardly ever use it, normally stick with my lightweight avid bed chair with a separate sleeping bag.

Looks good but 14.7kg is not lightweight unfortunately.

Anglers kit is just getting heavier and heavier these days no need with light weight alloy available

I bought this and sent it straight back. The 3rd leg is a cheap, flimsy plastic job and its terrible. Its a joke and Solar just isn't the quality brand it used to be. So you're paying all that money for a wobbly plastic hindge for a single 3rd leg to save what 350 grams?! From a bed chair that already weighs 14+kgs?! No thanks, what a absolute joke!!

The sp c-tech original is great, however a couple of things I would have liked to be ‘improved’ are not in this newer version 1. Get rid of the built in pillow section on the padding and make the padding the same as on the sides, then where your head lays would actually be completely flat, currently i have to slide down the bed to get this 2. Make the legs a bit shorter this would allow better visibility out of the shelter when sitting on the bed 3. Make the paint more resilient to scratches, you can see the marks on Dave’s version here and all the one’s I looked at in the shop before purchasing were the same! Otherwise, useful upgrades but, for me, not enough to upgrade from the mk1 Further, built in spirit levels would have been a nice addition to get the bed easily level but I can see why Solar didn’t do this as other brands did it first and it wouldn’t have saved weight. 14.7kg with a 5 season bag is competitive and shaves 2.3kg off the original version Looking at the dimensions the standard now appears to be 5cms longer and 10cms wider but given this isn’t mentioned in the video perhaps the measurements were wrong before, will check mine
