This has been a really fun tournament to watch. I def appreciate the effort and production put into the whole thing! The mixed doubles is especially fun. PS was also really fun to see it was the women who were breaking well. Timing and aim vs power, and timing and aim won in this match

On paper this should've been a slaughter match but allie nor shane played at the level both are capable of playing (not that i thought they'd need to in order to beat the styers but i digress) to be honest I think the styers simply just played better and fair enough they have far more chemistry together. But I totally had Allie and shane for the entire tournament.
@SetemkiaFawn9 ай бұрын
This sort of argumentation is absolutely pointless. All four players played excellently. None of them are perfect. Yes I've seen both Shane and Allison shoot better but I've also seen them shoot worse. Just because they should have been the winners on paper does not make it so in reality. That Allison missed the shot could happen to anyone no matter how good they are. Don't forget all the shots that Shane missed during this matchup.
@trentonsellers76009 ай бұрын
@@SetemkiaFawn I don't know why you keep coming at me but I suggest you get it together. You don't have the knowledge nor the balls to keep throwing your half assed insults and backhanded compliments at me, I tried to be nice, but you are going to far find someone else to play with, on paper this should've been a slaughtering, I said that but I also said the styers simply played better didn't i say that? So your entire comment is literally for no reason as you said the exact same thing that I said. I have to much on my mind to deal with trolls, 2 funerals 3bodies today and 2 more tomorrow do the math.

An idea for a no luck dependent shootout. A practice drill I use is a 2 ball last pocket game. An object ball is placed at the spot and another is placed at the break line center. The shooter places the cue ball any where he chooses behind the break line but must shoot the spot ball first to any pocket they choose. They must make that ball and then shoot the break line ball from the cue ball position they end up with to that same pocket and make it also without a miss. It demonstrates both variations in an individuals decision making, aiming skill and positioning skill. A good player should be able to accomplish it more often than not.

This is one of the most wonderful and intense games I've ever watched. I don't think I've ever held my breath as much at the end of a match as I did on this one. To everyone arguing about whether or Shane should be so bossy or whether or not partners should take advice, to all those that are complaining that one team on paper was better than the other, y'all forget, THEY'RE HUMAN. And for all those that are complaining about Allison missing that shot after three sets and eight innings of sudden death, oh come on, shut your mouth, there was going to be a winner and no one could predict who it was. The only thing that really matters here is the quality of the play. When's the last time you saw a match go to all but one inning of three sets and then go through eight innings of sudden death play before there was a winner?? I don't think I've seen a better match yet.

When a player is a world champion in multiple cue sports just let them make their decisions because otherwise you disrupt the player’s natural thinking. Especially if the player’s natural games are polar opposite
@trentonsellers760011 ай бұрын
Correct assuming both players are equal in skill, if you do that with one player being literally one of if not the greatest all around complete players to ever exist paired with a female pro who would literally be shining Shane's cue in a different world then it would be idiotic to think that she should've been able to play solely her own game without Shane's advice because they don't match in skill at all. There's no way you could actually think that is a good idea and claim to know pool. I love Allie and I'm not taking anything from her I watched her absolutely dominate the woman's game for years but saying she should ignore the likes of svb whos giving her a shot? You're joking. Which is precisely why she waited every single time until Shane told her the shot to play and played most of them very well.
@MikeyD2211 ай бұрын
I agree 100%. Allison is muti-World Champion. There wasn't a shot in this match that she hasn't hit many many times. Shane did this to Sky Woodward in the Mosconi Cup and World Cup and screwed him up causing him to overthink and mess up shots he'd normally make. Don't offer advice unless it's requested.

Its very common to see the players tighten up in shootouts. Even more reason to have the right mental tools for the job at these crucial moments. One of the most effective tools for these situations is preshot 360 and helps the player before and down on the shot
@trentonsellers760011 ай бұрын
I gotta say, I hate the shootouts but I want to love them, I can literally feel it inside but everytime I'm just like this is completely nonsense play one last set hell lag and play a sudden death rack anything but that shootout. In my head im like, "theres no way this is better than a final set or rack" i try to think of it as an evolution to the sport rather than just a fun addition for the fans witnessing the drama. It helps but doesn't cure it. How did you take the shootout when it was introduced were you hesitant at first or did you open both arms for a warm imbrace?

I strongly disagree with these commentators. "If i was playing doubles i wouldnt offer advice unless my partner asked for it" "shane should just let her shoot whatever shot shes comfortable with" first of all bud, you are not svb or any caliber close. listen, guys, if you are going to pair a female pro with svb she definitely better be willing to play like svb. Yes, Allison has her style however shes no svb and she knows it which is precisely why shes taking in every bit of advice hes providing. Obviously shes not going to be able to make every shot he gives her but the majority of shots he gave her she played and executed and wouldnt have thought of herself. Tyler is literally doing the same thing with margo and you have nothing to say there? Give me a break. They said the same thing about svb helping a very very very inexperienced april larson in the world cup. Theres just no logical reason to pair someone with the likes of svb and then let them play solely their own game and think thats a good idea at all.

@trentonsellers760011 ай бұрын
@@RushNCrush disagree all you want dude you have a right to do that. As I stated, theres absolutely zero logical reason why such mismatch in talent (not that Allie isn't amazing she dominated the woman's game for years and I truly don't think it's many pro matches she's played that I haven't seen) should be paired together and have both wing it. It's absolute nonsense which is why she immediately understood and listened to everything Shane said and played every shot he gave her. Shane does this with every doubles match and the partner simply listen and play the shot which is common sense. They didn't get the win but hey it happens I've seen them both play far worse and still win so if that can happen of course they can play decent (but far from 100%) and still lose.
