Thanks very much. We had this problem and shortly after watching your video had it twisted back in to position and hooked up to electics. Thanks again 👍

Invaluable - thanks very much. We were struggling to see how our 13 pin could work. Long nose pliers and a quick twist sorted it. Well done and thanks!

You have saved the day. Thank you so much. We always wondered what the green cap was in our drawer!!! Thought the caravan supplier could have told us!

I had never seen one of these pos trailer plugs living in Australia till I bought a Amarok, this video solved my problem in 30 seconds of watching. Thank you

Really useful. Thank you. We had this problem on a Sprite Alpine 4 we owned 10 years ago (the dealer handover was pretty abysmal) Oddly enough no other Vlogs I've watched so far mentioned this problem and I'd almost forgotten it... At the time 10 years ago, I hadn't a clue why I could not hook the power up to the car & for the life of me can't remember how I got it fixed. We return to caravanning next week. Tomorrow morning I'm going to get one of the caps you demonstrate !

It's a useful widget to have with you. Though ironically you'll probably find like us that you use it more to help other people than on your own van 😂

Hi DT I get this all the time and the customers that come to me think their world has come to an end as mostly their just loaded up and ready to go on their caravan Hol's together with the children and now a very grumpy wife. Full panic mode ensues on arrival in my yard together with his friend my colleague who had told him "I know a man that'll sort that out" after himself attempting to rectify the connection problem first but to no avail, The owner could speak as he spluttered expletive after expletive out waiting for a pause I interjected stating that he needed to calm down stop talking / shouting, your here now! and got one of my Green re-alignment tools as is in your video and a 13 plug and simply showed him that for whatever reason these euro plugs sometimes misalign themselves and to see that all you need to do is look at the silver pins with the mushroom bit at 12-o-clock and the square bit has to be at 3-o-clock and if it isn't then the green alignment tool will rectify that in a second. With that they both looked at each other in dismay to which my Colleague said "see I told you he'd sort it". Every body should carry one of the green alignment tool just for that reason you've showed in your video Well done DT. Regards Steve

Reading your comment did make me smile, people can really panic when technical things go wrong can't they 😄 Top marks as a storage yard having kit on hand to solve frequent issues. You are totally correct though that van owners should really buy and carry the plug tools they are only a couple of quid. Hope my video stops at least some from having to knock on your door.

great video, I'm stuck in the compound with exactly that fault. I don't feel quite so stupid now for not being able to connect up.....

Hope you can find the adaptor tool. If not then as I say in the video you can turn the inner barrel it's just awkward (and don't be tempted to pull on the pins :-) )

Hi, just bought a 2010 Swift and the plug looks completely broke as almost all of the pins look pushed in, do you have a video on how to take the old plug off and fit a new one please?
@DTSquared10 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear your plug looks broken. I haven't had this issue myself but I believe that the pins have a step on them which locks into a corresponding shape in the plug body. The pins can get pushed in past this point and if you open up the plug you may well be able to reseat them in the correct place. If you were to replace the plug you would have to take it off either way so could be worth a try. Definitely make sure that you label or mark the pins and triple check they go back in the same place though. Unfortunately I don't have a plug spare to dismantle and make a video of. Best of luck.
