I had to watch this. All three of my 290 ore on my workbench. I will get all three running again, but I will need several parts to get all three in operation. I have had all three running after combining, creating, and repairing parts from at least four different locomotives. Thanks for the info on the machine screws.

This engine was the first Flyer engine I bought in a "junk" lot. Also came with a 300 AC. Got the 300 working long before this one, finally the 290's running with the original motor.

You have done a great job on the locomotive. It sounds like the tender just needs a little more TLC. A few minor parts and some fine tuning. Those locomotives look nice with the white stripe down the walkboards. Will you be putting a roadname on it?

Nice job rewiring the engine. What parts are you going to buy?

The only thing I think it needs is a proper screw pin to connect the draw bar. Problem is the screw is too short and picks up draw bar which raises front of tender a bit and it looses connection to the track pickup.

What are you using for road bed on our layout? Nice work.
@MygrandpasTrain Жыл бұрын
It's some rubber sub-flooring sheets i cut into strips. It's cheaper than actual roadbed and looks pretty good but does not absorb noise very well.

@@MygrandpasTrain I'm not concerned about the noise. Just looking for a cheap alternative. Thanks

@@stevegerber2076 I found this stuff at my local ReStore for $2 a piece. I'm not sure who else sells it. I think it's specifically made for under hardwood floors.
