Hi I was wondering instead of practice skins would a melon fruit be more like real skin to look at it healing a day or to later I only say this as it's an organic matter.. thanks for all your videos I've been watching for a few months now and I've wrote all the bullet points down from the videos I've watched so far and I'm still watching them I dedicate 3 hours a day just to watch you videos back to back.. I've only just recently brought some tattoo supplies (but not a kit) and I find you're way ahead in how you put across your information than anyone else on here so many many thanks and all the best from derby east Midlands England United Kingdom. .

Melons and fruit aren't actually as good as rubber skin. The issue there is the particles sticking into the needle. Also it will take the ink instead of working to get the ink in. Really nothing that will work as good as real skin yet. I'm always looking for something that will act like real skin.

I run my machine around 100cps. Run it slow and keep an eye on the skin. If the skin looks good you can go back in. If you are pushing it I would wait until it heals before going back in.

Another thing to think about is you are blending colors. Putting one color on top of another color. You don't need to do 100% saturation with the first color. You just go about 50% and then add the other color at 50%. This is if you are going equal on the colors. The idea is not to spend all day in that area jacking it up. Go in and lay down the first color. Fade out the areas where you are going to blend in the other color. This way you don't take the skin to the point of being overworked before you add the other color.

Also make sure you are using a machine that is tuned correctly. If the color goes in real easy you don't have to force it. You try to force it in and the skin will take more damage. I have a shader that loves to put in the color also. If I let it the color goes in nice and solid. If I move quicker it will lay down less color and then I come back and hit it again with another color. The result is a solid color blend without hassle. It is working nice and easy. If you aren't getting good saturation with the machine you sit there and go over the area too much. Also try different needles. Usually when blending colors I will use a long tapered needle or bugpin. I've started experimenting with short tapered needles for blending. Usually I pack color with them, but If I move quicker I find I can blend colors together effortlessly. Those needles are probably why I can pack color with a shader.

thank you for tip, I often blending with #12 needle, I will try to use #10 needle for smooth blending next time, hope it help. Suppose I have a red area with 50% saturation and I want that area darker, should I add more shallow black layer with fast hand move till it's darker or slow down pack black with right depth for one time, Which will cause more damage than?

awesome vid that's how I started too light/shallow I would of rather do a second session than jack someone skin up . I think I had a close friend have a minor allergic reaction to my yellow I used it was scarred a bit but I touched it in with a different tone/ brand of yellow at it still came out pretty sweet thankfully I'm not a digger or it may have been a lot worse to patch up . I wanted to send you a picture of a recent tattoo I did on myself . I have been working with smaller needle groups because if you can get great with them all your outlines should look great smaller needle groups are tricky , but just keep in mind that my stretch was limited I did the best I could. where shall I send the pic ?

GREAT VIDEO I have a question whenever I put the proper spring tension on my liner 400 - 425 grams of tension on 18 g springs I have to bend the spring up a lot to get the grams of tension I need and also have to turn up the volts after . should I decrease the tension in grams or should I switch to a thicker rear spring so a lot of the tension is already there to begin with .. and I will add this my coils are re wrapped with copper and have the proper resistance . I'm wondering if maybe my coil cores are part to blame since they are import coil cores ?

I actually use that tension for a shader. My tension on a liner is a lot less. More around 300-350g. The higher the tension the more voltage you will have to use. Try getting rid of some of that tension and see what happens.

Take the tension off but set it up like a shader. Give it more of a stroke. If you put a lighter armature bar you can get it to run around 120cps. This will give you a nice hit without all the tension. I setup my liners like this. You don't move as fast. Take your time and you will get nice dark lines. The tattoo will heal nice and bright.

would you please give me an answear to my question, please? for shading i let the needle a little bit more out and i can brush smooth shadings and IT works fine for me(only on my legs !)In lining I can hear and feel the correct depth without any problems ..but i don't get the black packed in solid?is the teqnique "riding the tub"(needle Not so far out of the Tube)better for me? what is my mistake,i'm getting crazy :( If i could Do I would give you 1 millions"thumps up" sry. for my english ;)

I think you are saying that you are riding the tube. This is a practice that I think limits what you can do. It blocks your view of the stencil also. If you are practicing this I would recommend hanging your needles out and not riding the tube. learn your needle depth. Keep your hand steady with your middle finger sliding on the persons skin. Learn how to feel you are at the right depth. Also watch your linework to see how it's coming out. Read the tattoo to see what your problems are.

You have to try what I explain in this video. Do a test line with your needle only coming out so far. If it is not tattooing correctly try to slow down your hand. If that doesn't work turn up your machine voltage a little bit. If that still doesn't work put your needle depth out a little more and do this again. Do this until you see a nice solid line. If you don't get a solid line then there could be something wrong with your machine.

Same rules apply as getting a shop. Depending on where you live. Find a place where someone doesn't charge a lot of rent. Set up and get the proper license. Then get the word out that you are tattooing there. You still have to jump through the loops but you can do things your way once it is going.

Depends on what you are doing. Decent size tattoo would be 7mag and bigger tattoo can be 13mag or bigger.
